I think the Lambo and Ferrari people get those for completely different reasons than the Mustang owners get theirs... Anyway, what maters is that the OP is happy now... |

No my e90 didn't have nav. But although the idrive does add some flare to the dash, I just cant justify spending like 2000-2500 dollars on an option i dont really need you know. And that goes for any car IMO.

Nice Mustang but I would have to wait for the 5.0 in 2011...

well this seems to be the theme of this forum anyway, but apperantly people are willing to deal with a headache just to drive a bmw, thats why i leased my 1st one, if anything goes i'll let them worry about it, as long as my car is not in the shop too often, but if i have a really bad experince in the next 3 years, i guess bye bye bmw, but so far the car is amazing |

Congrats on the GT! I test drove one a month ago, and thought it was a decent ride. Enough that I thought about ordering a Kona blue one with just the options I wanted. Then I read about the 5.0 GT for '11, so I'll wait and drive one of those first, as it looks liek there's going to be more upgrades than just the DOHC, 412 hp engine and 6 speed trans.
For those thinking the car doesn't handle well due to the SLA rear, you relly need to drive one hard in the twisties. These cars simply work, and are easy to drive fast. Of course, I'd probably only drive hard on the track, where the IRS is not an advantage (as is evidenced by the Mustang VS BMW road racing results over the last few years), and on the street, I found the ride, even over bumpy Baltimore streets, to be no worse than my 7 series. Hell, with the H&R springs, even the 7 series skitters/bounces slightly over bumpy corners...

Congrats on the purchase. I'm jealous of your dad's Camaro! Is that the Hennessey 550 or whatev it's called?
2011 GT would have been the ish, but great to hear you got such a steal on the '10. Looks good!

And hopefully you're right about having some equity in the GT next year..you can go out and trade it for an 11. Jk Enjoy. |

Also the camaro is not a Hennessy car. Its just a few mods my dad did himself. It'll sure be up to about 550hp in no time though- he plans on doing full n.a bolt ons. |

2011 Mustang 5.0 looks sooooo good at this point ... 412 hp V8, finally a 6th cog for the manual transmission, but the biggest news is the "track package". Apparently Ford listened that the upgraded brakes on the current track package isn't quite up to snuff if you like going on road courses. Ford hasn't elaborated what exactly is changing on the track package for the '11 5.0. Magazines have stated to expect 14" Brembo brakes all around.
Here's the kicker, it'll be available for the '11 V6 Mustangs too. Ford is on a roll ... P.S. If you want to rag on Ford for still using a live axle, I'd kindly like to know another RWD performance car w/400+ hp and a manual tranny that can be purchased for ~$30K. When you're in the business of making a product, there's something called a budget, which implies that at some point, compromises must be made. Mustangs have actually acquitted themselves quite well in autocrossing events and the like. Furthermore, Motor Trend recently did a handling test with some of the best (and most expensive) cars ever built. The GT500 took 5th out of 10 cars, passing by the Jag, BMW, and Nissan's NISMO 370Z. It's even more impressive considering that the top 2 finishers (Audi and Porsche) were mid-engine layouts. Last edited by Bunkei; 12-29-2009 at 02:31 AM.. |
