The IS and 335 both have a different feel when your behind the wheel. Neither car is worse than the other. It just depends on what your looking for in the car.

X 1000.

It really is no contest the IS250/350 has the nicer interior. I'm talking nicer to look at and to the touch.

Everyone just love sliding in the "Toyota" jab. Get over yourselves. I suspect we'll be hearing the cheapshots when the GS-F powered by a V10 comes soon.

I think people already made up their minds before they "test" drive a competitor's car. I know this because I drove an IS350 and 330 E90 back to back (right when the Lexus came out) and I was trying to convince myself that the BMW was the better car, regardless the crappy interior and higher as-tested price. Most people here would be at home working for C&D.

On a more serious note, you've been here on the forum long enough to know that BMW is the end-all of cars. Everything else is a rebadged insert-your-brand-here.

The IS DOES NOT come in coupe form. Look at the differences between the E92 coupe and the E93conv? You can clearly tell one looks a bit "off." Lets not fabricate things here.

I would agree that the IS conv is not very attractive and nicely executed as the E93.

We should be lucky the OP isnt playing the reliability card. Such a card trumps all everytime.

it's built for a diff crowd and diff purpose. I think both 335i and IS350 are great cars, no need to get feelings hurt if you like one over the other.

Such is the power of one trying to justify their own purchase. If BMW badged Chevy Aveos, there would be people here who would argue that the interior quality and exterior styling is better than anything Lexus or Audi make.

they are called badge whores, they also like bigger badge numbers

it's a huge problem on this forum, people cant see past the badge no matter what, just look at the anti hyundai genesis threads

I really dislike lexus, but it's nothing really to do with the brand image, the cars are simply more luxury and less sport, anyone that's driven one knows this

I have driven the is350 and the car has lots of grunt and turns pretty well too. The discerning factor for me is e90's chasis felt more neutral in change of direction, probably due to the near 50/50 distribution, but it's not that relevant in a daily usage.

thats kinda the way it goes, gets them excited . I got to confirm the new leather racing seats dont keep a girl from giving you.........oh you get it

the car is back up and running, boost leak free thanks to a custom aluminum elbow I had fabricated. Should be legal to drive again sometime next week, then more work begins and the power is just going to climb

is350 is a disappointing car. I had one for a rental and it felt poor in almost every aspect. Power was especially weak. Build quality was meh.

335i is in a different league than that car imo.

Congrats on the pick up of the new vehicle - although I can't imagine your analysis for a "good" car if you think a lexus is350 and a G37 are THAT amazing.

ouch

both are good cars, just not driver centered and that is obviously what most poeple on here care about, thus the cars they drive.

actually, most people on here cant drive stick and just like the badge but like to pretend they care about "driving" a car.

and yes, DCT's do kick some major ass.

They're all pretty cars and don't forget to throw in the A5. I like the way they all look - in my rear view mirror.

Care to enlighten us with FACTS on how the 335i is so demonstrably better than either the G37 or IS350? All 3 have similar performance figures, nice exteriors and interiors, and comparable reliability. How exactly is the BMW THAT much more amazing than the other two, besides the blue and white propeller on the hood??

Believe me, I truly like all three cars (as well as the A4/5, CTS, Genesis, and C350). I just have a problem with people calling anything they don't currently own crap, and usually doing so with no more experience than having read some comparo in Car and Driver. At least SOME BMW drivers aren't elitest snobs....

^^^^ Ezactly

I love cars in general. Luxury, sport, suv, whatever.
I give props to cars no matter what the brand is. There are alot
of people on this site that do too, but there still are a ton of people that
bash anything that isnt a bmw. Its really annoying and retarted. It gives a bad
name to bmw drivers, i hope when i get my e92 people dont assume im a prick.

ease of tuning goes to the 335 in a landslide

i also much preferred the tighter yet still compliant suspension on the 335.

I wanted a coupe, the is350 doesnt offer that and the G37 is heavier and has a lower output powerplant than the 335. I'm a power junkie and I'll admit it.

those are my 2 errrr 3 points.

well for one, as of the latest official source from BMW that I've seen, it's not a propeller, for two, the quality of the BMW and Audi, especially Audi, interior materials is worlds above the Japanese product (I do not mean quality in the sense it is rattle prone, but that the actual plastics, vinyls, rubbers and fabrics are of higher quality) and for three, read any of the comparos and you'll find that they all say the BMW is just better

the problem is that most used BMWs at a BMW store are lease turn-ins and they aren't well taken care of. My parents just traded their E65 for the new F01 and the E65 had 42k on it and still looked brand new because we owned it cash and obviously took care of it. it sat on the lot for a day before a really nice guy scooped it up for his wife.

the IS is a great car for what it is. im shopping for one for my best girl friend. we drove the 3, the C, and the IS and the IS is just a better fit for her. The IS is definitely a "girl" oriented car. Touch screen nav, cooled seats, "pretty" pearl white color.
