LOL! Yeah, there's more of us!

Btw, word on the streets is that the awards might be moved to Friday night, so people can kick back a little more on Saturday night. I dunno if that's the final word, but it may happen.

Very interested in going. I have friends in New York City. How far of a drive is it from there?

Watkins Glen is only about 250 miles from NY City. Not very far at all.

Me and my buddy (E36 M3) are arriving Thursday evening and attending the track days on Fri and Sat. Wish there were more than 24h in the day, so we could attend an auto-x too...

Anybody up for dinner/drinks Thursday evening? 2 O'fest newbies would like to soak up all the wisdom from repeat participants...

Plans have not changed. I'll be there.

I was asked to instruct at the track, but none of the days offered will work for me unless I cancel other events. My wife just stares when I mention anything that will interfere wth "our" time, so unless they need someone to fill in for for Saturday, I just get to play student on Thurday.

I don't want to miss Larry's autocross.

Cool! I have never even seen a gymkhana event before. I'm on the track on Wednesday, but I'm definitely going to swing over and take a look between sessions.

You guys are in for a very fun autox course, semi evil ftw.

Same schedule for me as well, except we're getting in on Sunday night and then going up to Niagra Falls (Canada side) on Monday and then doing a winery tour on Tuesday. I figure if I'm driving that far, I may as well take advantage of it.

So Larry...I'm assuming this will be a very '135 friendly' course??

Dan, are you guys caravanning up this year or going it individually?

I have not heard much of anything regarding caravans this year.

"135 friendly" is long sweepers, and wide slaloms. Considering where we might've been told to have the autox, we made out very well. We managed to be given the main paddock lot, which is 400'x600'. That's a pretty big space, but not enough for "135 favorable" courses.

The 135i and 335i are competing with pretty prepared cars. I would be surprised if they'll be that competitive in the standings.

Guarantee you'll have a blast though.

We have about 8 cars that are caravanning up from Houston right now. We haven't finalized the route yet but we've gotten some requests to swing through certain towns to pick up a few others along the way.

How about you guys? How many from your chapter are heading out?

Oh well...if they had the 135 classed any lower, then THOSE people would be complaining that they wouldn't stand a chance against us (which is porobaly true...:biggrin.

We have 14 this year. All seem to be on very different schedules on the way out.

We are leaving on Thursday evening as are Don and Stacy, but on differing stop points. We are stopping in Cleveland, outside Pittsburg (for Frank Lloyd Wright/Falling Water tour..... I am an Architect), then North.

Don and Stacy are planning a "hit all the states possible" tour. They are planning to hit all of the New England states and then come back to O'fest.

I know of one other couple doing the Falls on the way up, so you might be surprised by the number of BMW's at Niagara around the weekend/Monday.

I think most are heading up on the weekend, but there has really been no planning on the get together and drive front. I was in charge of that for the last few years, but not this time.

Well, for those that missed O'Fest this year, you missed a really good time. I just got home this afternoon and thought I would send out a thanks. Larry and Cristo had a fun course set up at the autocross and all ran pretty smoothly. Great job guys!!

I think the 135 has more potential than I had originally expected. Can't wait for delivery this next spring.

Dan, I hope all of the Road Monkeys made it home OK also. See you again next year in Atlanta.

I definitely want to add my thanks as well, the autocross was outstanding (but then so was 'The Glen'!!). Thanks to Larry and Cristo for their hard work and a seamless event.

You're right about the 135 having potential! I placed 4th in class in a bone stock 135 on well-worn skinny (235 all around) street tires. I felt pretty good about that considering I competed against the likes of Wolfpack and Barry Norman in some very well prepared cars on race rubber! The 135 absolutely rocks!!

It was even better on the track! My afternoon sessions were in the rain and the car was awesome. I loved getting point-by's from the club race cars that were out in the advanced group...you couldn't help but snicker as you went by....

We all made it home fine, although there are still some that don't have power (going on 3 weeks after Ike) so I felt bad for them.

We will definitely see you in Atlanta!!

I am going to have to try to do more than one autocross a year. I think it would help me get a bit quicker
