Maybe there's some truth in this: An old insider and former member of the scene (anyone still knows Roger Benoit ?) told these days that two top team chefs refused an according offer from Ferrari already in May 2022! "It did cost these teams a lot of money to convince them to stay".

But due to Ferrari's mistakes the past year, the head responsible has to go. The difference with Vasseur is, is that Vasseur didn't screw up a WDC/WCC with a car that has the potential to win. This was the year Ferrari had the chance since a long time.

It stands on top that strat mix up's (Monaco the worst) together with the engine failures then own fault off's added to the misery. Sorry to say it was like taking candy from a kid for RB 1 when it mattered as I would have liked more of a fight with Ferrari which I'm sure Max would have wanted too.

Fred is having second thoughts about coming in and I heard now 'sofa man' Brawn is on the short list according to La Stampa.

Ferrari has confirmed Mattia is leaving though it's not known if leaving Ferrari altogether, he may go back to his original position there.
The plot thickens now if Fred Vasseur will be in or an 'interim' manager until someone is found. Last edited by M5Rick; 11-29-2022 at 07:31 AM.. |

I think Binotto was pretty good and didn't deserve much of the criticism like anything in management often stability is better rather than a revolving door. Ferrari however have very much got into that mentality that the next choice will be better when sometimes that isn't the case.
I do however think that the strategy team need to be replaced or bolstered and invested in as this is down right poor in comparison to just above everyone else. Red Bull, Mercedes have had moments of brilliance Red Bull especially and that can make all the difference. Unfortunately I think this is going to be another shift for Ferrari when the need focus and to continue to deliver. They have a good car, a good engine and a pair of great drivers but the rest needs work and in F1 you can't be good in only one area it doesn't work like that it's far too competitive. |

I even saw a blip of the name Ross Brawn.
But my guess is that he'll either stay in the FIA for one more year, or that he's gonna retire. I think the problem with Binotto was that during the year, we didnt really saw improvement of the team. Just too many mistakes both in strategy and in pit lane performance. It was basically looking out to the next race and wager what Ferrari could f#ck up this time...

Finger wagging his #1 driver in public proves he is not a leader. Supposedly he is a brilliant engineer which leads me to believe Bino is a micro-manager. That's a bad combination.

Looks like schoolmaster to pupil mistake by Mattia but I think Chas must have mouthed off something 'pardon my french' out of despondency.
