haha. sad fact is that the g37 nowdays might actually be second in weight to the 335i. camaro can weigh up to two tons, this base model genesis is 67 lbs lighter with no equipment. but you realize thats how car companies make money. they either you sell you on the weight or charge you for the missing weight.

Who ever said the G37 will blow it away ... the Gen Coupe has better hp/weight ratio so I bet it wont.
Brakes are huge and by Brembo so you cant go wrong with that. Only down side its its a bit porky with the 2.0 Turbo but Im guessing there will be plenty of aftermarket support for this new motor. |

oh dear....so do i have to point out the R-spec bulimia version is only for the 2.0T? the V6 is going to be heavier because that 3549lbs claim was without all the "track" equipment. on page 2 gencoupe.net even tells you the power-to-weight. im actually surprised the g37 has the best one.

I wasn't even considering the V6 as I would only be interested in the 4 banger. I think that Hyundai's initial plan was to keep the car under 20k with the base model, but I'm not sure if that's possible with a car this size.

haha yes indeed, but i was thinking too deep in that you were alluding to the R-spec which would have a lower weight than even a base 2.0T and that maybe...somehow, im not sure at this point, the power-to-weight would be better than the g37. nevermind, carry on!

For those that didn't know, the 2.0T is from the joint development between Mitsu and Hyundai. It is a slightly different variant of the 4b11 found in the EVOX

I would however pic the 2L Gen coupe over the G37 or a IS250 or Acura TL or other ... as for like 22K you have a good looking fatory turbocharged coupe that saves you over 10K in money. Yea you will be under power but 5K in upgrades and you'll most likely be having a higher output. |
