I think many, including me are making a comparison that for argument sake V8's traditionally weren't a very high reving motor, so an example of one that revs out to 6500-7000 might be considered high reving. I'm an old guy so when I see a 6000 or 7000 rpm redline I'm thinking that's pretty high.

For the $$$, Ford's Coyote V8 is pretty sweet. It's not a flat out rev monster but it's no bottom end monster either. Seems quite happy to go past 5000RPM which in a mass production V8 is pretty sweet.

The thread title says NA, meaning Naturally Aspirated. So yep, wrong thread.

IMO nothing to this day drives better, sounds as good or is as manic and impressive on the top end than the GT3 or its variants as far as non hypercars go.

If they made a car with the VOODOO V8 in convertible form i'd be at the dealer by lunch time. For me it's damn near the perfect engine.

I know it never really was affordable but the Carrera GT 5.7L V10 goes up to 8,400 RPMS is a real screamer like the LFA. I'm pretty sure I've seen one on the road in Toronto years ago. Love that back end.

And it's porky, has a tough interior to love and isn't really all that fast. I'd have a GT350 over any E9x, realizing they Ford is also wearing a fat suit.

Manual R8 V8 with an aftermarket exhaust. Not sure which year it was, but I believe it was 2012 and up (mine is a 2012) that increased 10 hp (lol) to 430 hp, but the redline also increased to 8500 rpm. It'll be 8 years in January since I bought it, and I plan to keep it for a very long time. During my entire ownership from brand new, it's only cost me a total of $400 in out of warranty repairs. Oil temp/pressure combo sensor went out. That's it.
Friggin' love it. I'd drive it more if I didn't need a back seat most of the time. But it's a really badass car for lower budgets. Drives and handles awesome. |

I'd love to do that for a Daytona Coupe, but I keep hearing of oil issues. Signed, Guy that has done little to no research on the Voodoo "oil problem" |

That's another car I kind of regret letting go of. It made almost as much power stock as my current C6 with the mods it has. And stock it revved to what my current one does....but I had to install a cam in this one so that I could bump the rpm's as the LS3 tended to drop off pretty dramatically at/after 6500.
