i also picked up the cd yesterday...its no where near all of their older shit. but its WAY better then st anger...that album was just ....well

i think most songs are average. onlly a couple are "metallica" quality, but not quite 80's quality. I listened to the whole thing, some riffs are crazy, some solos are really nice. but i intentionally listened to Orion, To Live Is To Die, and One after to realize they're nowhere near where old school Metallica.

RIP to a great metal band that rocked the 80's and died in the early 90's.

it's growing on me a lot!!! especially every intro. first 4 songs are awesome! my apocalypse is chaotic. unforgiven is nothing special, but there's a lot of good stuff in the rest.

im listening to them while driving man my speedometer is reacting well to them hahahha

There is only one true king of heavy metal, PANTERA, and unfortunately, we shall never see them again.

Metallica hasn't been the same since they released the Black album, and each album its gotten worse, and worse and worse. They should just give up and retire.

So, I've been listening to this album for about 2 weeks now, and I'm not impressed at all. I'd give it maybe a 4 out of 10. Not all of the music is terrible, and some of it is catchy, but it's not Metallica. I'm an old school Metallica fan, and their new stuff just doesn't cut it. I will say that the album is probably better than some of the more recent, but hopefully they will put it to sleep at this. They honestly don't need another album. They are just further proving that they can't match what made them famous, At some point you have to throw in the towel.

They shouldn't have hyped it as much as they did. The "best thing since the 80's" bullshit made a lot of us die-hards shake our heads in disbelief when we finally heard it. I'd say it's on par with Load and Reload. It it by no means Master or Justice.

That being said, I do like some of the songs. All Nightmare Long keeps getting repeated on my playlist. I heard The Day That Never Comes about 100 times on XM prior to release and I like it. Cyanide is fine. It just feels like it's a first take pressed to disk.

I still love em. I will, however, populate my playlists with the classics.

i like most of them. I absolutely hate My Apocalypse and cant stand The Day That Never Comes.

Im absolutely liking That Was Just Your Life, Cynide, End Of The Line, Broken beat & Scarred, All nightmare Long, and Juda's Kiss. I have been listening to these over and over since day 1. Im speeding in my car to them, im loving the fast riffs, solos, intro's, everything. they're just awesome.

Suicide and Redemption is a failure IMHO compared to Orion, Call of Ktulu and To live is To Die. there's just not much into it at all. very chaotic. they're trying to mimic Orion but meh... fail.

Unforgiven III is whatevers too....

when they said it's like Masters it didnt mean they're going to produce Masters of Puppets V2.0!!! it means they are going on their own to prove themselves again, which IMO they did. The difference is metallica went kinda mainstream in 1991. it's hard for them to come back. im glad they got their chemistry back again. now im not sure whether they should keep trying or should just call it a day. at St. Anger i thought they definitely should call it a day.
