I use my fog lights all the time, when I am driving for work it's dark out at 3:30 am. But I still use them at night, I have HID bulbs in my projector head lights. My fog lights are Rigid industries LEDs and are OEM, these things do not blind anyone and light up the road really good for such small sized fog lights. My headlights probably do blind some people but after a year with the HID bulbs, I have only gotten high beamed once and I was on a slight incline. This combo I have give me very good visability and the throw pattern to the sides is very wide and sharp, I love it.

And this is also why every car I buy has to have auto-dimming mirrors, because I don't give an F how fast you want to go, you can light the road for me though.

Please don’t do this my brother. There’s a reason why it’s illegal in Florida (and the electric message boards on the highways keep reminding us not to do this)

I turn mine on when I get in the car. I leave for work at 6 and its usually foggy. Now I'm trained to do it on days that don't have fog :P

Basic math. Time and Distance. Fog lights only case light a few feet in front of the vehicle and to the side. If you are driving above 35mph then you don't need the extra light; you need to look 1-2 seconds down the road. You don't drive at 65mph while looking at the 25' in front of your car. Sure the road near your car is brighter, but you are well past the time/distance reaction point. You should have already observed and evaluated the road 1-2 seconds before the fog lights add the extra lumens.
I hate the D-heads with illegal fog light bulbs. They should be ticketed and towed off the road. I've started seeing 18-wheelers with both illegal/bright headlights and extra added on fog lights. Might email my state senators and public safety commissioner. I figure if these people need extra lights to see the road, then my high beams are a courtesy for them. Might even get my own bright LED bulbs to help them as the pass me. |

It is in the name FOG lights, in Ireland 90% of drivers have them on and most cars have day lights on too, add the constant rain and you simply have a blinding journey home. True ignorant with no brains, some one need to tell them this 2019 with most cars equipped with Day time running lights! shame the law is not re-enforced, cops will make a fortune fining every one, it will fund the force for years...

My Jeep Wrangler has OEM LEDs from the factory. I've made no modifications to them at all. So many people think I've got my brights on and flash me that now I keep my fogs on too, so people know my brights aren't on. It's cut my "flashes" in half.
My rule of thumb is if you flash at me, I'll flash to show you they are not on. If you put yours on and leave them on in a showdown because you've mistakenly thought mine are on, I turn mine on and leave them on... no matter what you do. If you beep, you get auxiliary lights too. Hey, you started it

Fogs on when not foggy just makes you look like an idiot imo, not particularly annoying. Some people believe it may look aesthetically "cool", I'd say more pathetic but each to their own.
What is annoying is hideously bright HIDS shoved into a halogen housing not designed for that purpose, which blind everyone and everything in your path. Or talking about dull lights, people who just put their parking lights on, which are shitty little w5w halogen bulbs when its dusk/early morning may as well not be on. Put your headlights on or don't!? OR another one... People who drive around with just DRLs in the dark, presumably not realising they don’t have any rear lights on. I really don’t know which of the 3 is more annoying... |

It was quite foggy there this morning, and I was pleasantly surprised to find I could use the fog lights with just the parking lights on. It made a significant improvement to my visibility compared to also having the low beams on.
To the handful of drivers who were driving through the fog with their high beams on this morning: What the hell were you thinking?

there are much more things to complain about than cars driven with fog lights
such as driving at night with no lights on except for auto-on LED DRLS (they think their headlights are ON, I've found this happen mostly with Nissan Rogue drivers as 7 out of 10 cars that run without lights at night were these cars) driving with high beams on just because it illuminates world in front of you better driving on left most lane on hwy doing 55 while everyone else is passing you on right lane and you give them finger because they pass you (mostly Prius drivers) I think chance of getting blinded by fog lights are lot less than finding guys mentioned above |
