This is a very bad timing for BMW with all the summer ED planned.

I feel so bad for everything effected doing an ED. This is very horrible news. I hope BMW takes care of everyone.

That is very strange, how can they lose the plates? If lost why cant they just slap on another set of plates? Seems like a minor issue, not sure.

my vehicle was on a vessel that arrived on july 15th. My tracking says its in the finishing touches stage. I wonder if the vpc will hold it. not too excited about this because I was looking forward to pick up this weekend and get the july rates with my voucher that expires on the 29th. not as bad as the ed people. hopefully we all get through this.

anybody else supposed to take delivery this week? i was on the mignon

Sounds good. I'm gonna call the ED dept tomorrow and try to find out what BMW plans to do for us. They supposedly don't have the parts to fix the Diff. My question is Why can't they stop production of current M cars in production and use those parts for our cars?

Folks, unfortunately, it is ILLEGAL for a dealership to sell you the car if it is affected by a delivery stop. It is a Federal crime. If your car is considered to be one with this defect, you will not be able to take delivery.

There are no lead times as to when they'll get fixed.

My car was built in the recall window but I just found from my CA that I'm good to go for my PCD on Thursday. Not sure if it's a valid data point but I have a DCT...good luck everyone!!

Trust me, I tried. We went round and round for hours. It was a Friday delivery, so they couldn't get anything done. I had the registration papers, just not the plates.

I am working this through BMW NA, and I expect some reparations. Initial emails show that they are willing to work with me... I am negotiating now.
