R8 in a heartbeat. NA V10 vs an I3 hybrid? Is there a choice?

This poll should have been R8 V8 vs i8.
Eitherway... R8 for me, even if its a V8 lol. I LOVE the i8, and its probably going to hold a better value, but for pure enjoyment purposes I'll take an R8. Like Jermey said, i8 is the typewriter before the laptop was invented... they're going in the right direction, but its just not there yet. |

Interesting this thread came about when it did. I just was just cross shopping the i8 and the R8 recently. Let me first say that I've been a BMW fan for a long time. I seriously looked at the i8. It looks absolutely fantastic, but I feel like it just doesn't quite have the performance to back up the looks. So I went with a 1st gen R8 V10 instead. Perhaps in a few years when BMW comes up with a higher performance version of the i8, I will be back

R8 is the only proper Audi and the only Audi I would ever buy. Sorry i8
Let's see what the M division will do with the Mi8.

Are you kidding? 610 hp high revving V10 vs. 350hp 3 cylinder? R8 is probably costs twice as much as i8 and is more than twice the car.
Actually, I take my m4 over that i8 with its weird caricature looks and skinny tiers any day. |

BOTH. as soon as bmw fixes the cheap i8 interior (I think they did allready with a few tweaks I have not seen any pics btw anyone?) the I8 will be almost perfect.
That said the R8...I prefer the design of the first gen - cant believe they ditched the side blade - but the interior is superior and yes kudos to audi. A NA engine!! The world has not ended yet. BMW doesnt even have one in its ever growing lineup. Who would have thought. Audi is now the proper premium sports car manufact (bar porsche). |

The i8 makes even the new R8 look dated, plus the R8 looks like a TT. If I was looking for a conventional supercar in this price range it would be a 911 GT3 or maybe the new M3 GTS , definitly not an R8. If I was looking for a GT type car In this price range I would take the i8.

LOL, is this even a question.
Lets see a normally aspirated 610hp V10, or a crappy 3-cylinder hybrid? Umm...yes to the R8 100%. There is long list of cars I would rather have over an i8. |

Jeez. I have been through several BMW's. Great cars. I've never owned an Audi. The i8 just looks like it's got the flu or something. Just not right. To answer the very simple and straight forward poll. R8. There's a video of a red one and it's so much better looking than these weird pics. I'm in the glad the blades gone camp.

Without having driven any of the cars myself, based solely on what the cars are on paper, id have to pick the R8.

R8 all day long. Honestly in today's age the I8 in its current form is underpowered (i.e. Tesla P85D)

I love the i8, but there are a handful of other cars I'd choose over it; R8 included.
