Porsche should definitely be worried. Their boring lineup of cars is going to bite them in the ass. It might've worked for the past 50 years, but they need to adapt to an environment where Mercedes is going to topple Porsche as being the automotive company making the best sports. In the past couple of years, Mercedes has dethroned BMW, now they're gunning for Porsche and they'll probably be successful at that too. Mercedes did invent the automobile so they might as well make the best ones.

Now, do you know how retarded you sound? The 911 is iconic, and it's rear engine architecture is part of its DNA. 'Guy's let's just completely disregard 50 years of engineering and start on a completely new platform! The 911 customers will surely LOVE that!' Do you even think before posting?

That is what I meant, make the Cayman more exotic looking, more similar to 918 Spyder, because right now it is really boring, although better.

But times change, so one must have to adapt. Most buyers have no idea what an M3 or a 911 or even an S Class is. I'm not talking about those on forums, but those out there. |

Porsche's 'boring' line up? Boring to who? You? Look at Porsche's sales, certainly most of the world doesn't think they're boring. They are the standard in any class/segment they have a car. They make the best sports car in the world, the best roadster, the best small and medium size subs, the best sedan at any price. They have quality they is second to none and continue to outsell themselves every year. Mercedes wants to try and compete...and thats about all they'll do...try, because they won't do anything to upset the market Porsche OWNS. Even the 458 Speciale at twice the price of a GT3 isn't a better car...and the RS hasn't even been released yet. Mercedes isn't that calibre of car. |

Great looking car, but can't help but think it sounds so feeble compared to the M156 and even M157.

Take a C-Class for example. It will compete with the 3-Series but it will never be the choice as a more driver-orientated car because it will always have to be a Mercedes first which is luxury and comfort. |
