Unlike many of us, he still admitted his fuckup. That alone is a quality learned with age. Who cares how old he is, car geeks never age.

Here's what you never do when you get pulled over.
When they ask you "Do you know why I pulled you over?" They're looking for another reason to write you up. Its a trick question, simply say no. I learned this when I got pulled over and they asked me the same thing. I told them "is it because of my tints?" he said "your registration is expired." He came back with a fix it ticket for the registration and LUCKILY a warning for my tints. I figured if I just told him "no" or "why?" he probably wouldn't have noticed. Anyways, just don't give them your guess when they ask you. Good luck next time! |

While I appreciate a person who is mature enough to admit their mistakes, I believe in this case it is a naïveté indicative of a younger age.

I never asked this question because I wasn't trained to ask such a stupid question... one of the first steps in the 7-step violator contact is to state your name, your department and the reason the person was pulled over.... stop watching so much TV, kid.. |

Gonna chime in on behalf of the cops here, since I am one haha
Doesn't matter if you brake suddenly or not. A lot of police departments have radars installed in the rear windows of their cars (ours do). Chances are he clocked you before you even hit the brakes. Just saying. Best of luck in court, mate. Last edited by justanotherdude; 09-10-2014 at 02:31 PM.. |

I just got a few weeks ago my first ticket ever. Apparently female cops are not a myth. Still, a good gall, she could've arrested me with the speed I was going.

I still maintain by issuing OP a no point, failure to obey traffic control device ticket, he was doing OP a HUGE favor. Then OP busts his balls. If i were the cop i would have taken my gift back and written him up on every violation i could find.
Every time i've been nabbed speeding since i was an adult i didn't receive a ticket. I was courteous, i made sure my hands were always visible, turned on interior car lights, opened all windows. Helps make them feel safer when walking up on an "everyday" traffic stop. After that, i've just fessed up. "Yeah, i was opening her up a little bit. Didn't have much traffic on the road, and wanted to go through a few gears." Ok, well, lets slow it down. "Yes officer, thank you." I see no need to patronize the officer when you know full well why they pulled you over.

LOL sure does do the job, but truly, most of them were really cool dudes, a cop in Tennessee showed me the right way to go after I and Candy (nav lady) had had one of our epic fights, and one cop pulled me over so he could ask if I wanted to know how fast I can make Peter go. We did fine, Peter and I.
