My dealer said the 550e is not effected by the stop sale. He has 50 other 5 series that are. I gave a deposit in January and he did say I would be one of the first to hit US soil. There has to be other 550e's on this boat though.

I bet there are a lot of them on the same ship. I have to wonder if the reason the dealers are saying there are no allotments available for 540iX's, and they are in short supply right now is because they are pushing all the pre-ordered 550e's out so they are all received around the same time? For some reason some custom order 540iX's are stuck in limbo, while others were completed and are in shipping. Could they have moved them aside to allow the 550e's through, since it uses the same B58 I6 engine as the 540iX? Or for other parts in common?

I've been in QC for the last 2 days.

Odd. Wonder if they are holding 550e for some reason. Also, I still haven't seen an EPA certified electric range.

Bought a 550e Touring today. Car is available since yesterday as touring, drove the normal car back in March and have been doubting about a lot of cars (X5, Panamera, G31 540i) but with our stupid tax system this is the best way to drive a nice new B58 in The Netherlands.
Car will be build just before Christmas, delivery in January 2025.

So called BMW Genius for status today on my 550e. She said they don't have any update other than it is still in QC and that they have had several calls about vehicles "stuck" - she had no further information. I've been in QC for several weeks.

Suggested my sales manager reach out to the BMW rep to see if they had any further info.

This is very curious. I will try to get in touch with them.

Anyone have further info....?

I've also been in QC status for several weeks. When I called a BMW Genius a week or so ago they told me I was being held up due to the IBS issue and waiting on software update.

Our 550e has been released from the factory and is on the way to the port. This is feeling real. Pick up at the PC by mid-November I hope.

I'm still stuck in QC - was week 37 and was supposedly completed on 9/16.

Our production date was 8/30 and it hit that. Then sat in QC until the end of September.

I have a 540, that's build week 36, that's still stuck in QC. Its completion date was 9/11. There's no stop sale on it, or any open recalls. I have no idea why they can't get it together after nearly a month.

If they could just give a reason for the QC delay, it would be helpful. A time frame for completion would be even better.

That would be a cool feature, maybe tied to the interior or 360 cameras if equipped. Would like to see what this looks like if it happens.

BTW my prior orders usually took ~6 weeks from end of production to delivery but with current IBS and steering spindle issues, who knows.
