I snapped my arm at the radial head from a overhead fall on Easter last year and have been PT'ing the shit out of the arm trying to get back to form

I'm 6'1" 210 lbs @ age 50. I work two jobs so its tough to keep a regular workout along with three kids and two homes to maintain but I'm trying !

Any of you guys older than 50 trying to get to your peak ? I ask because all I hear from physicians is "don't lift heavy, the disc's cant handle it at your age etc".

I'm the OP and I'm 41. Starting to feel old for sure. My squat and dead have been horrible lately. Can't seem to get motivated. Maybe I need to compete again.

I don't feel old, but I know its occurring. The mind doesn't see the aging and I'm not going to inform it !

But I will admit, all those years of martial arts and crazy youthful stunts involving catching air and gravity like to remind my joints and nerve endings where it occurred, lol. I'm glad I'm not an ex NFL'er !

Put up 325 bench, 495 squat and 500 dead when I was in high school. Didnt lift through college (engineering). I'm now trying to get back into it. Have to deal with a lot of injuries first but, I nearly back to my previous numbers. I'm 5' 10" and a fatish ~210. I'm also 25 years old.

Garage List
A couple months back while deployed I was benching 315 on the regular (on chest day) 4-6 reps. 225 shoulder press 3x 10. I'm 6'0 200lbs. I don't lift heavy with back or legs due to injuries. I lost my workout parnter so I haven't been lifting heavy at all lately.

You sound very similar to me. Same height, weight, age, issues with injuries and job situation lol. Fortunately, I've managed to avoid getting "fat", but I'm also not sub 10% body fat like I was a couple years ago.

Here's me at 17 years old at 211.6 lbs at the Texas High School State meet. 675 pound btw.

Just upped lower body the other day probably could go heavier but I need real training, upper body is meh. I'm trying to kind of cut right now so strength loss was expected in some areas.

Jesus man, that's a significant amount more than I ever put up. Awesome numbers.

I'm not that fat. I can see my abs but, I know I can lose maybe, 10 pounds pretty easily.

Nice! Our numbers are very similar. I've wanting to so a meet as well. Unfortunately, the only active fed in my area is the USAPL. I have a friend that lifts in it, and It just looks way to boring for me. Was thinking apf or SPF. I'll have to look at powerliftingwatch and see what's around.

In on this.

Currently 5'10, 214lbs dry

325lbs Bench with 2 second pause on chest (raw, no arch)
365lbs ATG Squat raw (no belt, no knee wraps, barefoot)
445lbs Deadlift raw (no belt, no knee wraps, no chalk, barefoot)

Other lifts:
195lbs strict Overhead Press (no belt, no leg drive)
245lbs clean (no belt, no chalk, no wraps, barefoot)
295lbs front squat ATG w/ clean hold raw (no belt, no wraps, barefoot)

My squats and deads are lacking compared to my pressing. Plan to just bulk throughout winter and spring.

i was about same numbers little more on the dead at 193lbs body weight. my bench also is far superior to my other 2 lifts. comes for me from years of not really working on squat and dead.

Nice. I'm getting fatter. I'm at around 18% body fat (maybe more now). My strength to weight ratio is pretty bad.

I've actually been wanting to cut last spring for summer, but I care more about getting my squat and deadlift up. So that's why I'm probably going to bulk throughout winter. Layers of clothing ftw

Gets hard as you get older. I don't try to lift heavy as often anymore. Different goals as knees and shoulders become painful.

Already am. Have done 485 dead, 325 bench and 385 squat all legal in my 40s. But have been pretty lazy lately and squat and dead fall off fast for me. Bench always good for 300-315.
