G61 Edrive 40: Ordered somewhere in May, was targetted for November (end of lease). Got the message the car should be ready for pickup. Just need to arrange the admin process of trade in of the current car (which will take some days to plan).
Will update once the car has effectivly left the parking of the dealer

Well with almost a week that the car had the steering spindle recall fixed my car is still sitting at the port. Feel it's strange that it hasn't moved yet, makes me wonder if it has some type of damage, speculation of course but at this point anything is possible.

Maybe you are waiting for others have spindle fixed at the port so they can load up a truck ... Maybe mine 😁 still showing the spindle recall.

Checked the tracker and it's in transit to the dealership but with my work schedule won't be able to pick up till next Friday. Will try to stop by and take a peep at it.... This journey is almost over, hopefully the beginning of a new enjoyable one!

**UPDATE**
Almost 2 months to the day since it arrived at the port, the stop sale has been removed from my car and the SA expects it to arrive at the dealership any day now. I’m cautiously optimistic.

I think there's something seriously up with delivery of U.S. bound 540's. I'm trailing you by 5 days in Quality Check, and neither of our vehicles have budged for 7-8 weeks.

It's so strange to me that people who ordered 550's after we did, that were built in October, have already cleared the factory, and yet these remain parked there.

I did a quick look on CarEdge.com and searched specifically for MY25 540s. There are only 70 listed for sale in the entire United States (that are allegedly here). If you include in-transit vehicles that number jumps to 118. And I'm not convinced the 70 listed are actually on the lot. I checked out 5 of them, and not one had 'real' pictures, just simulated ones.

Now granted, that site doesn't likely include every dealer, but it does seem to hit quite a few across the country. I looked further: Autotrader listed zero. Cars.com listed 98 MY24 vehicles across the Nation, and zero MY25.

Are they allocating parts towards the 550e at the expense of the 540's since those are only sold in the States? I don't know. It is odd though.

Todd, I never thought of it that way. But you could be right. They want to push the 550e the way they were pushing the i5. They very well might be holding it back. Yet mine is at the dealer and the only difference is when it gets to the end of the line it came to Spain instead of a ship to the US. US Specs should all be the same. Unless it was let through BECAUSE it was not heading to the states. I have noticed the same on the BMW Configurator when it shows vehicles at a dealer near you. All the 2025 540iX are pending arrival, and the 2024 show as available.

My 530xi landed at Port Newark on Sept. 28, two days before the port strike. The strike was settled but the vehicle is still sitting there due to a recall for the brake booster. The dealer said my 530 is "on the board" for October delivery, so how much longer to wait is very frustrating. What's my compensation for this poor execution of manufacturing and delivery? /X3

nhtsa still has my car as "Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available" I don't believe I hit the port in the US until around 9/28 where as I think you were there 3 to 4 weeks before me. You will have to share the experience so those of us still waiting... and waiting.... and waiting, can live vicariously through you! Happy to see the "remedy" is indeed available.

If they’re pushing the 550ex, I wish they would push mine onto a ship. It’s been sitting in port this entire month after sitting in QC all of September.

I was at the dealership this morning having my sun visor replaced and my steering wheel ground wire recall checked. One of the guys there said they have been getting in brake parts for many cars to deal with the IBS recall, but they came in first for the X7 and i7 cars. He said they have been waiting the longest for the 5 series cars, and they still have a bunch on the lot that they need to repair in order to sell.

Mine will probably be one of the last, but at least I was able to take delivery before it all started. Good luck to you guys.

The backlog at ports must be significantly worse than we imagined. I know the forum is a relatively small sampling of total BMW customers, but considering your car is “Priority 1 - Sold to Customer” that’s shocking. In looking back through the posts from members earlier in the year, it seems like the average time was about 2-4 days.

It was a critical and urgent issue! Ever since I took delivery, the little light bar in the driver's side visor would not turn on when the mirror was opened. The passenger side worked fine, but not mine. I noticed it for the first time about 3 months ago, and finally took it in and they replaced it under warranty. The service advisor told me the visor cost over $300! Even he thought that was expensive for a little visor. It took less than an hour from start to finish, so it was no big deal labor-wise. Like most parts for the car, they had to order it from Germany first, which took 3-4 weeks or so.

Good grief! $300?! I’m guessing they determined it didn’t just need the bulb replaced. The more I hear about the prices of the small incidentals, the more likely I think at some point I’m going to get that platinum extended warranty for 7/75k
