Not really sure this works because you would need to be connected to your home network to play anything through SONOS in the way SONOS intended.

There is no reason to think they can't add a handoff over internet or that they can have a "continue from home" feature in the car and visa versa. Maybe BMW will include a Sonos app in idrive with access to all of your music services. The one thing they wouldn't need to include is seamless multi room audio with the car which is the part that requires the home network.

My prediction: Sonos will be just software so that your phone recognizes the car speakers as a Sonos device.

In other words, an alternative to Bluetooth.

So G87 M2 will be MY 23? With F87 SOP 06/21, there will be no M2 for one year?

And no X7M to compete with GLS 63AMG?

Yes, that's very common to skip a year. For example the gap between e36 and e46 M3 in 2000.

Surprised with the Sonos potential, I'd have never seen that coming.
They are good in homes due to their simple streaming effectiveness, sounded pretty good in shops whenever i've had a little listen. But, in a car sure is interesting. It definitely wouldn't be a typical competitor to the usual HK, Bose, B&W, B&O's, found the automotive world.

This is BMW's entry to cover that sliver of the market.

Any insight into the delay for the Mxdrive versions for the M3/M4? Can you see any info that points to when those versions might be going into production?

I think it's safe to say SONOS Radio will be included so your presets and playlists will be synchronized with your home and vehicle.

Your prediction is an interesting concept where your car becomes a zone in your SONOS System. I think I will join you in this prediction!

Having the audio system branded (as others have predicted) SONOS also makes sense. Three out of four audiophiles surveyed have no respect for the audio performance of the SONOS ecosystem or hardware, but it probably doesn't matter when we're talking about the entry-level (US) platform. In reality I see this as a big win for SONOS, as it will surely raise their brand awareness.

Can't see it on your list now but has F82 production ceased? I thought it was September 2020 but looks like I might be wrong going by your list.

Any news on the 330d maybe? The 530d got a power bump when it went MHEV for the 5 series LCI, is something similar going to happen for the 330d MHEV? Or will that have to wait for the LCI (or the next generation even)?

It's coming in November.

I am interested in the forthcoming i4, and since it will share the same body as the 4GC, assumed that it would continue the hatchback theme. However, I have yet to see any photos depicting a hatch, or anything about one. Does anyone know whether BMW will continue the hatchback on this model? Thanks

Out of curiosity and following on from my earlier question, I found a thread further down which says EOP for F82 is 10/20. Has the covid situation brought that forward? Did it end up ceasing production in June? I can only see posts mentioning its ended but not when.
Thanks.

Thanks, my friend. It‘s really been a while (due to work, family, etc.). But now, as I am about to get rid of [enter a BMW competitor’s V8 estate ], I am back...

I was told by a BMW insider that the MXdrive versions will not have the "2WD option", as it will be exclusive for the M5/8. Is it true?

No, it is likely not true. BMW confirmed with German media that 2WD is most likely available for M3 and M4 (besides 4WD and 4WD sport modes).

This may have been asked and answered, but I couldn't find it. Where will G80 cars for North America be built?
