Off topic...Friend of mine just bought a house in New Canaan for over 30% discount vs original listing.... high end homes dropping like rocks in tri state.... that’s a lot of watches

Not everyone is suffering...

Personal friends +8mil to losing their jobs last year. That said I have friends with $5 mil mansions that are now $3. But home prices on high end have been trending down, it correlates to Wall Street pay in aggregate.

My dad had a similar one in Stainless - in storage since long before I got the watch bug. This is a nice reminder to pull It out and give it some wrist time, thanks. I think his might still have the metal clip-on calendars for the band too, but probably c. 1980's.

What you find is the fish eyed camera lenses people use, make a decently sized watch look huge (like that PO) and a small watch look right sized, 40mm Rolex sports watches are tiny in real life but look good when a photo is taken on a camera phone.

I tried on a friends Kermit submariner the other day and couldn't believe how small it was, tiny thing.

with my new found hobby of watches, I decided to get some basic tools and see if I could revive some of my old watches that have quit working. First up, the Seiko my wife bought me for our wedding day....some 37.5 years ago. Replaced the battery, took the band apart and cleaned off 30+ years of gunk, and just like that, a "new" watch. A bit small by today's standards, but still tells time quite effectively, however, the "light" feature quit a long time ago. I've not looked into the exact movement with that feature to try to replace that.
