Good shout ToddRGuy I have that type but without the rings because I never use them. Not just for scratches on my black ones, mainly because I use the fobs and I am prone to dropping them. And the new fobs are not as robust as previous models. Bought from Temu to try first because it was just over £3 (around $4) delivered at the time and I figured they may be useless and go in the bin so no big deal if I needed to explore a much more expensive option.

But it is excellent for what I need, a durable, protective silicon cover that is inobtrusive, protects the fob well and looks smart enough. And the functions work fine, even being covered. They will not appeal to everyone but I was pleasantly surprised at the looks and practicality.

Word is my vehicle should be arriving at the dealer today. Maybe I'll be able to pick it up tomorrow, just in time for Ohio's first snow. I kinda don't want to pick it up and drive it if there is snow & wet roads on my first day with it and ruined the detailed job of a new car the first second you drive it off a lot.

I honestly haven’t used my key fob for almost a year. I always use my phone and have the card key in my wallet as a backup (never needed it).

I’m going to give that a try too! I’ll likely leave a set of keys with my niece, just in case something happens on one of my California work trips and she needs to move the car. I think it’s just one of those old habits that might take a while to give up. 😅

Oh trust me, I already have my nephew lined up for the photography. He’s done a number of feature photos for Chevy vehicles in nature backgrounds. You’ll probably get a new less glamorous photos from me, to begin with, but I feel like I should write a real review, as a new BMW owner. 😉

Well, it's been a long wait (little more than 5 months) and my vehicle has been delivered to the dealership. Don't know if any of the week 36 people received their vehicles yet, but as of 11/20 mine is at the dealership. Finally.

This is now 25 pages of mostly griping about delivery delays, which is more or less the thread topic, but interesting bits about G60 accessories is not obviously contained within and noticeable to future readers. If you discuss those in their own threads, others will find them more easily.

Congratulations! My best guess (as mine is at the Bremerhaven port now) as of 11/15, is either a Baltimore arrival on the 7th, 10th or 14th.

The 7th is highly unlikely in my opinion as this would require it to be on the ship leaving today, November 20th, after just arriving at the port on Friday. I have zero expectations for this to happen, given how long this spectacular shitastic build experience has been prolonged. Prove me wrong BMW.

I do have a small amount optimism that it might make it on either vessel leaving the 27th or 28th of November.

Likely my last hope for any chance of a 2024 delivery, would be the first two outbound vessels in December, that arrive on the 21st and 22nd; with holidays I’d imagine any chance of a 2024 delivery would be a post-Christmas miracle.

My WK 36 G61 was handed over last Friday after spending 2 months at the dealership.

It was produced on the final day that applied to the universal joint recall (September 4th).

I will say, I was starting to lose the faith but then the car arrived and all is forgotten! The new car smell and the car itself makes everything better.

The interior is knockout imo. The only 'costcut' that I think does look bad is no sill plates. I think I will be getting the OEM aftermarket ones but even they aren't set in a proper surround.

It will be worth it!

Me. I am a week 36er 540iX MSport Pro. I believe I was the first week 36 540 to be delivered. I took delivery 2 1/2 weeks ago.

I got her home. haha. I was able to get a complementary detailing appointment and $2K off my already negotiated price I had at the time of placing the order for the frustrating ordeal of waiting.

I brought it up but they did not hesitate at all. I brought it up saying how frustrating this whole ordering ordeal has been for me this time and they were like what are you thinking? I already had it in my mind that I would be good with $1k discount, but knowing I would start at 2K just incase they wanted to negotiate lower, so I said $2k and they said done any thing else? I was like well yeah kinda I was hoping I would have received my car a month or so ago and would have nice weather to drive it home but today its snowing, so I have a new car that just got detailed and the second I drive it off the lot and get home that is ruined. I was hoping you could provide a free spa appointment at a later time. done.. anything else? Yes I would like to purchase a license plate frame from you as long as you match or beat the price I'm finding online. no problem we will throw that in free. We good now? My car is on the boat now somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic. I ordered a 540iX on March 13. I am definately going the same route you did on telling them how dissatisfied I am. Thanks for the info.
