It won't be long before that happens, as Max tightens the screw on him there is sure to be a reaction though short of ramming with these two new strict director bods in.

Hard and classy racing
Leclerc and Max put on a very good show, hard racing and mutual respect. Good to see Leclerc congratulate Max on the radio.
Mutual respect versus vitriol is welcomed. Less drama more hard racing. Leclerc is very clever with his driving, great racing between two drivers. Checo had incredible pace, bad luck with the safety car. Sainz can’t hang with Leclerc, possible “wingman” naming coming since his contract extension has yet to be signed. Great to see Binotto and Horner talking in the pits during the weekend. Russell did a great job, it was a weekend he needed. Hammy’s hubris influenced his decision to make changes to the set up over engineers’ advice. He paid the price.

Merc didn't even have the highest top speed last season, Mercedes always have the high down force low top speed approach. Look at the w11 - fastest F1 car ever it was all about the down force on that car, and it always had a really low trap speed vs. the rest.

It's gear ratio, the Ferrari has shorter gearing.

Their acceleration in the straights blew everyone away in the second half of the season. The Redbull had better downforce in all aspects all season long. Max outcornered Lewis almost everywhere.

Did Estrella Galicia forget to pay their bill to Ferrari? I noticed their logos are blacked out everywhere.

How long until they modify DRS? The drivers almost coming to a stop for dibs probably means it’s too powerful lol. Quite entertaining though.
The new regs really did work!

HAM's 2021 Brazilian Rocket PU Grenade overtook the whole field like they were standing still ! The Mercedes top speed was actually unseen ! Don't tell me it was HAM . Currently even Russell is faster than him...

Loving the new regs, that's some proper racing!!!
Ferrari gonna have to give up some wing. Way too vulnerable on the straights. #RedBullJetMode |

For instance last year RB suggested that it's not fair if a car gets taken out in a crash caused by another driver and subsequently needs a new PU or so because of that damage, it's not fair that that is penalized and is subtracted from the PU's to use in a season. Ferrari agreed to that. But of course Merc didnt, and lo and behold.....every team that used a merc powersource (and ONLY teams with a merc power source) didnt... It's these kinds of politics, that pretty much take away the independance of teams, that both RB and Ferrari don't agree to, and I don't think events like this will be forgotten by RB/Ferrari/Alpine. That is why they rather race eachother than race against Merc. as Merc is the team that tries to extend their influence across other teams beyond the service they deliver.

Mercedes never focused on out right speed it was always about downforce for them. Strange when Max started from the back and finished in p2 you said it was all max despite the rb16b being superior to literally every car last season up until the end when Mercedes caught up. Guess it was just the car.

Will it stay nice ? hard to say. If we start seeing one driver punt another off with the "that was my line" attitude or the stewards favoring one driver over another that could flare tensions.
When HAM and VER were fighting it was like two bulls, nobody wanted to give an inch. LEC's stance seems to be more of the matador here.. trying to use Max's aggression against him. a bit unlucky for charles today. things may have been different if the double yellow was in another part of the track instead of sector one where he had an advantage over the RB.
