One good thing about ev they don't get stolen much.
A. Not many people want them
B. Police can catch them as they can't run far
C. If you put them on a container and ship them to Africa nowhere to charge them
D. Manufacturers can shut them off remotely
Credit where its due

This definitely goes into the plus side for my Tesla. Less worry about it being stolen.

Sales of electric vehicles (EVs) are defying the combined urging of green lobbyists and government diktat with just a quarter making up new purchases for 2023, UK data reveals.
Plus, according to the latest industry data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, just one in four new battery cars have been purchased by private buyers.
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/202...new-purchases/

OK if only 25% of EV's are being purchased by private buyers, who the heck is buying the other 75%? Gobernment, ie Tax Payers? Rental firms?

US government agencies target purchasing 9,500 EVs in 2023
WASHINGTON, July 19 (Reuters) - U.S. government agencies are targeting buying 9,500 electric vehicles in the 2023 budget year, but face supply issues and higher costs, a federal report said on Wednesday.
That's almost three times the number acquired in the prior budget year.
The Government Accountability Office said 26 agencies with approved EV acquisition plans estimated they would need over $470 million for vehicle purchases and almost $300 million in estimated costs to design and install the necessary infrastructure and for other expenses. The vehicles purchase would cost almost $200 million more than the lowest-priced comparable gasoline-powered vehicles. The agencies represent more than 99% of the federal vehicle fleet excluding the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), which is an independent federal entity.

Not to worry, the deep state is coming for Musk before the election.

I do think EVs suit the needs of your avg consumer really well. But for people who cannot depend on charging at home it can be very difficult and add a lot of anxiety. An EV can work for you 95% of the time, but that 5% of the time it doesn't can completely ruin your day.
Your bosses issues were completely predictable, so that is really on him. And honestly, if you buy a Tesla, you get what your deserve.

EVs are not for everyone, but do work well for many. I now have a PHEV which suits me well. I think spouse will be getting an EV next year.

If the sold state batteries live up to the hype, it's going to transform how we think of cars and ICE powered cars will become few and far between, but transformation is at least a decade away.

Seems it's time to post this again for those who think fossil fuels are unnecessary.

The refining of a barrel of crude oil has somewhat fixed derivative products. If you want planes to fly than you will need to have a percentage of gasoline. If you want roads to drive your EV's on you will have a percentage of gasoline.

I get the feeling that some of you wake up and your first thought is, “what can I do today to take down EV’s?”
Haha, what a bunch of downers!
EVs are the future. They don’t do EVERYTHING that a gasser does, but let’s be real. Most families have 2-3 vehicles. I’ve had an EV since 2016 and it’s saved me boatloads of cash in fuel and maintenance savings…. Not to mention the superior performance, never visiting a fuel station… the choice is obvious for me.

EVs are the future....
I enjoy those post. EVs are the future. IF the solid state battery, sodium batteries and other next gen batteries live up to the hype (500+ mile ranges and charging times of 30 minutes or less) it's hard to imagine the ICE surviving in consumer vehicles. My guess is that the 2030s will see the end of ICE powered consumer vehicles.

We'll see.

I'll answer ...
UK government gives 100%tax write off as capital when anyone buys an EV for business use.
So if you are a business owner or fleet owner and buy an EV for 100k and your tax liability for the year is 100k then you pay ZERO tax.
Zero tax relief if you buy EV as a private buyer.
How's that for saving the planet or tax the poor and middle class and stuff the pockets of the rich and upper middle class.
