I called Genius this morning. My vehicle is still at the port in Baltimore, a carrier truck has been assigned, but waiting back from the carrier on schedule. ugh. For the love of god why can't they just use Fedex or Amazon Prime-Yesterday™?

Yes, when I used the Google Chrome trick, it indicates Status Code 193.

Finally here 520i MSport.
However one question the key fobs I got did not have the MSport style colours or logo which I was expecting for getting MSport. Not too bothered but just wondered if it was the same for some members here. Especially with cars built end of October 2024. Maybe shortage of the key fobs.

My car was delivered on Friday but arrived at the dealer in September - but I have the exact same thing!!

They keys leave the factory with the car right, so mine was a WK36 build.

I did raise it with the delivery man to make a record of it but yeah I don't have the MSport fobs. My card key is also the black one not the white M one (Again I probably prefer it)

I actually prefer the normal fobs as they aren't piano black. But might use it as an excuse to squeeze more out of them after the 2 month delay.

Wow, that’s pretty interesting. I just assumed “Port of Exit” meant that it was exiting Germany, not Baltimore.

The reason being that it was dispatched from the factory last week, and there doesn’t appear to be any ships that it could have been on in the interim; at least none from W&W.

Update: I did call and it’s indeed in Germany at the port.

Yes I have the black card key as well. Like you I prefer the normal fobs too but just wondered if it was just me obviously not. I asked me salesman about it and he was surprised but also said he has seen MSport models on other cars having the normal fobs too.

Is that the newer shape of the fob or is it the branding/colours on the fob?

Branding colours on the fob and I think it’s piano black on some fobs.

It's my understanding that in the U.S. if you get the MSport (or perhaps MSport Pro) package that the key fobs look like this:

Mine also came with the new, Plain key fobs. 540iX MSport Pro, week 36 build (Sept) and I received it 2 weeks ago. It also came with the black key card. Also don't forget to turn on the remote start in IDrive or the 3 button push remote start on the BMW symbol on the key fob, or the remote start function in MyBMW App won't work.

Looks great, congratulations and enjoy! Do the cars in the UK come with the rear tint darker than the front by default? In the US my car came with no significant tint anywhere. Everything looked the same, except for the sunroof - that was a little darker than the rest of the glass.

Darker tint is an option in the UK called Sun Protection Glass for £470. I’ve always had the option on my previous cars so it had to be done 😊

Yeah. Mine didn't come with anything either. I was looking for the Sun Protection glass/privacy glass as an option and it was not listed as available for US models.

Given that tint laws in the U.S. vary from State to State, I wonder if that has something to do with why we can’t option it here?

Not sure. My Range Rover came with it. Just not on the Driver and Front Passenger windows. I had those done. I think every state allows it as long as it's not on the Driver and front passenger windows. WA allows 35% on those. None on the windshield I believe. This is the second Bimmer I have ordered here that had no tint. I'll wait till I get it to the states. For now I just use the built in sun shades. I tinted the Mercedes myself and it definitely looks unprofessionally done from the outside.

My experience is that privacy glass is never an option on US configurators, but you can find it on European ones sometimes.

I prefer the look of the plain fob, and it looks to be of a more durable carefree material. People have different opinions and wants, but to me it is a working piece of hardware, not a piece of jewelry.
