Hey now. It's relative. Some of us prefer an athletic, 'flat' rear end ...
... which the 'vette has, doesn't it? It's just got too many creases and nonfunctional bits ... kind of like a 'thicc' onion with a spray-on tan and wrapped in granny dukes ...

C8 rear as to
a. Uma Thurman b. Kate Upton c. Jennifer Lopez d. Kim Kardashian For perspective, a would be Ferrari 458. d is probably the current Camaro. |

When the C7 came out last... a friend of mine who works for BMW AG... wanted one really bad. You know manufactures have fleets of cars fill with cars from other car makers. My friend put in a "request" for the new then Vette... He drove it for four days to see what all the Hype was about. He said it was a really good car... but the suspension dampening wasn't calibrated for German roads. It had some weird harmonics on certain roads. He also said it was so fast! He mentioned that he saw 320 kph on the speedo and the car was still pulling hard. It scared him. lol But the deal breaker for him was.... he was driving quickly at 250 kph and had to brake down to 200 kph rather quickly bc of traffic... after that medium braking... the rotors were wrapped! He liked the C7 but he wasn't sold on the engineering of the car. So... he placed his order for the then new M4 coupe. I told him something funny... something I find very true... I said we American's don't know how to make a car... but we sure do KNOW how to make a missile or fighter jet! Dack

Suspension story doesn’t sound legit either. Your funny missile statement reminded me of this commercial, I really liked this.

It's like a modern day Porsche 914. Love it in so many ways. Good on the general for reinventing themselves, there has been a lack of this for years now.

Even my new 2017 Grand Sport has to have a $350 suspension “update” to fix and recalibrate the magnetic-rheological shocks, because they didn’t quite get it right in the first place. But once they got it right...that suspension is MAGICAL.

I stand corrected, thanks. Why wasn’t the work done under warranty?

It’s like APPLE charging for a patch to fix the battery life issue on the iPhones. Oh wait, APPLE DIDN’T charge for an iOS update to make the iPhone work right?! Damn. At least CarPlay’s “free.”

ATS-V CTS-V ELR Volt Bolt C7 None of those cars come to mind as not being standard GM fare?

The 914 was a massive departure for not just one, but two manufacturers, both of which were laser-focused on making rear-engine passenger cars until that point. The C8 is only revolutionary because GM hasn't made a mid-engine car since the Fiero -- which, by the way, was a reaction to a consumer trend that ended up being a fad. The C8 is also a reaction to a trend, but it's a far more practical and long-term one: cornering the affordable performance coupe market in the age of hybridization and EVs.

The Fiero is any more of a fad than say the the Z3/Z4?
