I'm still going long on CSCO. I unfortunately bought in at $18.50 but I'm going to be in it for another five or six months since I've got 3,700 shares of it. When it goes to $24 I'll be

Be careful with SLV now. It could go either way now. It could continue to shoot up or correct. It is possible we see a good correction just as well as a good spike. Long term I think Silver will climb but short term it is quite possible that we see a good correction.

Glad you made some money

Probably won't be back at $24 in 6-7 months. My position is similar to yours, but I have at least a 12 month horizon on it. The market hates CSCO and tech money is flowing into NFLX, AAPL, and other sexy tech names with high expectations. I think the expectations for CSCO got too high and the market sold off not because results were bad, but because they wanted the growth of 10 years ago.

CSCO's cash flow and market dominance don't just go away after a few "bad" quarters (which weren't even under estimates). The market just seems distracted by "growth" even if it's not sustainable (NFLX).

As long as you are making more money than your gas expenses for your car, then you should be good. The longer the Libya conflict is, as well as conflict in the middle east, the higher oil will go along with precious metals.

Just thought this was an interesting article to share about deciding which companies to invest in.

Very interesting, however you don't know if they're shorting the stock or something. Haha. You might be going in long after reading about these fund managers buying of a stock and then realizing they are making money on your loss when they shorted and you longed. But I might have to refer back to Market Watch again, they're pretty good.

That correction looks like it started in Asia today for Silver. We could see it dip to $35 or so in the short term. I'm long on Silver so one could pick up some SLV on the dips of buy some SLV puts if they feel like gambling that it dips to $35 short term. I think we dip first and then continue upwards.

Weekly puts are high risk but will pay well if played right.

Qaddafi is on his way out now and is negotiating a safe haven for himself and his family. Either he finds someone to accept him before the rebels get to him or the rebels tear him apart when they get to him. The allies have been bombing the pathway for the rebels to get to Qaddafi and so far the road is almost clear for them.

Apple should make some sort of a run. They report earnings on April 19th after the market closes. For sure their earnings will blow so expect some sort of run before earnings. Option calls should do well unless market tanks then all bets are off the table. NVDA should also make some sort of run as their earnings numbers will also be good this quarter.

Here is one for you guys to play with - smmt.pk BEFORE YOU PURCHASE READ THIS: this stock is highly reactive to trades. It is trading below a penny. Don't be a dumbass and buy $10k worth. You will get your ass handed to you. It is currently trading at 0.0004. If you do buy, put in a limit at 0.0006. This stock surges up to 0.0010 - 0.0015 every few weeks or so, then drops back down. This is only for people who watch their stocks closely. It is a risky stock, but worth it if you play it right. Don't blame me if you fuck up, get too greedy, or miss out on a trade.

I never touch those type of shares because 9 out of 10 times they will hand you your ass.

It's been 3 years since I found it, there is a definite pattern. You just have to play it right and not be too greedy.

I really like this advice you gave to another poster back there because it’s so true.

Someone gave me a recco on lwlg.ob 3 weeks ago. It was trading at 1.37. He said news was coming out, and the stock should shoot up. I didn't buy any, but look at it today. Had I taken his advice, I'd be pissed off.

Back in ’08, when I was young and brash I lost about 5k in 3 months during the recession. I know it doesn’t sound like a lot, but I had been working for only a year or so, and trading casually, so my savings weren’t substantial.

I ended up liquidating my positions at a 3k loss. Learnt a few things since that debacle.

took a long break from the markets after that.

Sometimes, the hardest thing to accept is not a loss of money, but a loss of pride.

What do you guys think about buying GSIC? Is it going to top soon?

Also, do you guys use any sort of software to organize your portfolios?

Some people just use an excel spreadsheet to keep tabs.

GSIC won't go up much more then it already has. It reacted to the news. It might in fact pull back a bit tomorrow from people selling off.

I sold off all my AAPL shares today. Made an 11% profit. I'm sure it'll go up a bit more this week but it's best to not be very greedy. I learned a while back that the less greedy I am in the markets the more money I make.

Read the agreement with ebay. They are buying it for around $29 a share. It was no coincidence about the price it closed at.
