im actually kind of disappointed about the new Daytona. I was hoping they'd go for a bigger size.

Being two generations, the price may be quite different. However, a V serial 16600 older generation Seadweller is highly sought after by watch enthusiasts. Resale is essentially unaffected between the two and each will sell and be priced according to it's generation. The more important question with a Seadweller in this context is reference number, in which you are talking V serial = 16600 and the random serial = 116600. Here's a link for the two: http://watchesbysjx.com/2014/07/comp...ve-photos.html As for resale between the Sub and SD. The Sub is far more popular. Resale is then more easier, but this is to the general public. When it comes to watch enthusiasts the SD has a cult following and purist love it for its cyclops free crystal and heftier feel. These two are the top Rolex divers and thus retain their value equally in their context, same for the Daytona in stainless steel, but not as much for say a Datejust in 36mm. Rolexforums.com is full of knowledge as suggested, it's where I got my Rolex black belt of knowledge. Good luck, I love both and have owned both, I personally favor the new ceramic SD and the Sub LVC(green dial and bezel) to own as a pair. |
