That's absolutely nuts. These guys were tugging on the pilot and they could see the train coming

Charges dropped against Dominick Black, the individual who bought Kyle Rittenhouse his rifle when he turned 18 years old. Good! Charges should've never been filed in the first place.

I finally picked up my Staccato C2 DUO prior to heading into work. I can't wait to train with this gun.

I see the skeleton hammer.
Is that a grip safety below the beaver tail?
That and the trigger are giving me 1911 vibes...

It's a 2011 (…so essentially a 1911), skeleton hammer, grip safety and all.

Hey there, just a general question about speed traps.

The policeman was pointing their radar gun through their rolled up window (it wasn't terribly cold today but I won't judge). No one even got a flinch from him.

Do radar guns even work well with a rolled up window?

For the record I was being responsible and traveling behind the flow of traffic knowing they were there. It's fun to watch people react after seeing the speed trap.. sometimes people blow right by... I wonder what their "limit" was today.

A rolled up window does not affect LIDAR, which is what the officer was using.

It's oil. The picture is distorted.

I was a bit annoyed today at the sheer disregard and inattention drivers show when behind the wheel. A power outage took out four city blocks (…including the tri-phase traffic signals) and motorists candidly blew through pitch black intersections with flagrant disregard. After writing five traffic collisions from 11pm yesterday through 5pm today, I got fed up. Once darkness fell this evening I wrote 21800(d)(1) CVC violation citations for every driver I could catch…….to the tune of 15 in two hours before I shut it down to end my work week and go home. I don't write a lot of citations, but this phenomenon just irked me enough to put pen to paper.

Santa Ana winds were bad last night. How was everything at your place? Any damage? No damage here, just a big mess.

My daughter and I planted a pine tree from a sapling 30 years ago. It's about 35-40 feet now. Always worry about it when we get one of these big wind events.

No damage to my place near you. The wind caused the power outage in my patrol area though. Glad everything was okay in your neck of the woods.

Get um! How many different codes are there? You know them all by heart or reference other sources as well.

I figured the power outage you were talking about was from the winds. We had the lights flicker a bit last night and I thought we might lose power but we never did.

Way too many for any mortal to memorize. Lol! I would estimate that I have at least 150-200 CVC and penal code violations memorized and only need to reference those 2" thick books if it's something I haven't written. In my early days in law enforcement, I made flash cards of the most common vehicle and penal code violations and memorized them. Whenever I would write a citation for a violation or arrest for a crime I hadn't memorized, I would make a flash card and add it to the stack. Over the years that has resulted in a me being able to quickly access the information needed by memory. It especially comes in handy when I get challenged and I can rattle off the statute verbatim. It shuts people up.

Here come those Santa Ana winds again...

Until you posted, I didn't realize that was an actual thing beyond the song...

I think it's just lovely though that you and your daughter created such a legacy if you will.
