I forgot to post this on Dec 24th. 30 years ago a forgotten hostage lost his life at Nakatomi. Moment of silence for this brave soul:

Water has been just falling out of the sky here for a few days. I keep seeing these young adults wearing cotton hoodies, wondering why they are cold. . . I tried to help some of the younger ones BEFORE they went outside, but they just looked at me funny.

Seeing all this water rushing down the drain at the end of the street, I wonder again when Ca is going to get over the idea that fresh water has to start as fresh water, instead of us trapping all that runoff in underground basins, filtered through mother earth. Am I the only one who read Dune?

Learned something new today! The rechargeable battery in the non-CA cars eventually die. $277 for a replacement. I opted to buy a new battery and will try to solder before dropping money for a new fob. Crossing my fingers on this one. Now I just either have to deal with the damn alarm every time I unlock my car.

Next step is looking up how to disable alarm by unlocking door with key.

Whats the difference between non-CA cars and CA cars?
Here I thought that the main batteries are rechargable in all ways...

It's not that bad honestly. I bet NY sinks that low sometimes?

Didn't have a hat or gloves today, just a leather jacket that I normally wear to work, but I also wasn't spending any significant amount of time outside. Except I may have to put some more air in the tires tonight...well, probably tomorrow...when I leave around 5:30 it will be too dark tonight to see the gauge properly.

Meh - it's probably the one thing I dislike the most about winter - the short days. I don't enjoy the cold, but you can dress for it at least and then it is fine.

As soon as I saw you had replied to this thread I knew it was going to be about how warm it is where you are.

Therefore, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest your crotch and may your arms be too short to reach.

Low 50s today with clouds. I actually wore a sweatshirt with my shorts while planting and harvesting lettuce and arugula

Still see wet pants at the bottom

Maybe the water could just fall out of the sky directly into the aquifer instead?

My oldest (not of my loin) spent Monday and Tuesday (in the rain) refereeing at the Rose Bowl for the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

MAYBE, just maybe he will be able to put that suitcase we got him for Christmas to good use when he has to fly to a real NFL game somewhere.
