Sure . As I said, slowly but surely.

Consumer Reports pummels EV reliability, says hybrids have significantly fewer problems
That’s the bottom line from Consumer Reports’ eagerly anticipated annual reliability survey.
Unlike those bad old days, though, the culprits are advanced electronics, not oil leaks and faulty transmissions.
EVs in model years 2021-24 suffered about twice as many reliability problems as internal combustion engines, or ICE, according to CR’s survey of about 70,000 vehicles.
The five least reliable vehicle categories, from bad to worse, are:
Electric cars
Electric SUVs
Full-size pickups
Midsize pickups
Electric pickups
EVs have 79% more problems than ICE vehicles, according to CR’s survey. CR excludes problems with commercial CD fast chargers from the report. They’re an infrastructure issue, but they’re also another reason many buyers are reluctant to commit to EVs.

Yet another strike against EV's whatever the shape, unreliable as mentioned in this report, can lose power and switch off for no apparent reason, hazardous to remove on flatbed truck when in an accident or breakdown, EV quietness dangerous to street playing children, huge depreciation and now some insurance companies don't want to know because of high incineration risk and those that do are upping the premiums to an unacceptable level and charge distance is reduced the colder it gets.

I am coming up on a bit over eleven months since getting my Tesla and I am still learning new things about the car. Lots of cool features and technology.

I didn't know that I could add stealthy child massacres to that list. Thanks for the heads up though. The car never ceases to amaze me.

It's the same with my M, when I first got it I had to read the whole M bible before I could make it move and even now I have to recap on the features I haven't used for a while and want to use again.

My favorite quirk on my M5 was that deep unexpected pocket on the left of the steering wheel. Way bigger than I expected and helpful.

Tell me about it, good for keeping your exhaust flaps remote and spare battery for it there, only thing is make sure it's closed when you get in, if you forget and it's open the sharp edge will swipe your knee red or worse wearing shorts.

As time goes on more on the Luton Airport C/P disaster, expert explains why it could only have been a Lithium-Ion battery that started the fire that destroyed 1500 cars and the car park structure.

Who would have guessed this?
China Set to Choke Off Supply of Key Mineral for America
China is set to impose export controls on certain graphite products, potentially having a significant impact in the United States on both electric vehicle manufacturing and some military applications.
The restrictions, set to take effect from December 1, were announced on October 20 by China's General Administration of Customs and Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), as reported by China Daily.
Experts have expressed concerns about the potential impact on the U.S. electric vehicle market.

Earlier I posted: China Set to Choke Off Supply of Key Mineral for America
The Chinese are playing three dimensional chess and our government is playing a bad job of checkers.
US and Canada confront the next big EV minerals challenge
11/30/2023
China on Friday will expand critical mineral export controls to include graphite, the single largest mineral component of any EV battery. There is just one producing graphite mine in North America.
U.S. and Canadian executives told POLITICO’s E&E News that they urged the White House to rapidly help them build out graphite mines and processing facilities.
They asked for reinstatement of Trump-era tariffs on Chinese graphite imports and lobbied for more direct financial support, according to two executives on the calls. Canadian companies that want to start mining graphite in Quebec and Ontario say they need U.S. subsidies like Energy Department financing and loans.
The challenge is particularly obvious with graphite: China produces almost 70 percent of the world’s natural and synthetic graphite, according to Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, and makes more than 90 percent of the world’s anodes for lithium-ion batteries.
The Northern Graphite mine in Quebec is the only one currently operating in North America, while no synthetic graphite anode material is made on the continent at commercial scale today.

The Lac des Iles graphite mine owned by Northern Graphite in Quebec.

To be eligible for tax credits, the climate law also requires at least half of an EV’s battery components to be manufactured or assembled in North America and for at least 40 percent of the car’s critical minerals like graphite to be extracted or processed on the continent or a country with which the U.S. has a free-trade agreement.

https://www.eenews.net/articles/us-a...als-challenge/

Interesting to watch two countries who have done everything possible to ruin tar sands oil mining and transportation (Keystone XL Pipeline) both of which are being built and paid for by private industry now take tax payer money to mine graphite.
