Because my father is a stubborned fool sometimes. He wanted to build a car that ran like his 60's era 911s did. I'm like, buy a fucking 60's era 911!!! So this engine has some racy cam in it that is supposed to replicate that driving sensation. Now you can see why i'm not in love with it. I would have done just what you said. Though, the engine builder, a reputable guy says this engine should be putting out around 250hp at the crank. I just don't think it's running right. Smells a little rich and throttle response is somewhat sluggish on the low side of the RPMs. He's got 3 cars now so i'm hoping he'll be ok selling it before the TT is ready. Already have that money earmarked for another type of weekend "toy".
Ouch. I've been contemplating on buying a spare VANOS to have on hand. You can find them for $500 or so used.

Yeah, you have to tell pops that an M car will never feel like a 911. Front watercooled engine, rear drive will never feel like a rear aircooled engine, rear drive car. Two different animals.

What do you have in mind for the next toy?

He knows. He's had some 13 or 14 Porsches over the years. He's just trying to replicate the engine characteristics. I guess the price of admission for a nice 60's 911 is too steep for him. lol

Ehh, not 100% sure so i'll keep it to myself for now.

Just trying to paint a mental image for yall in regards to my mental age. Honestly wouldn't mind a C6 z06. A new 5.0 wouldnt be bad, I just hate the mustang stigma, unless youre riding hot in a Shelby.

They can be had pretty cheap now too. It was on the debate list in the past. Really a C6 z06 wouldnt be bad either.

I really wanna drop the M2 and get bucket seats. I feel like I'm sitting way too high compared to my Z4s.
Vanos is an issue on all S54s. Doesn't matter if they are tracked or not. The fix is cheap if you do it preventatively. If you let it become an issue, that's when it's expensive. Same goes for the rod bearings.

Nothing wrong with a modded car either. As long as the mods fit the direction of the car you would want to go, it will actually save you a bunch of money.

Don't buy seats for the M2. Stupid to give up that factory comfort.

I love it! And now I really want it!

As much as it pains me to say this, why not pull the S14 and drop in an S52 or S54? That car would be a rocket.
You probably saved a fortune on having to powdercoat your wheels red. Too bad you can't buy all of your cars from men of such taste and class.

Let me clarify. C5 Z06, best track car under $30k. C6 Z06, best track car under $50k.

I like the 5.0 but they're too boring in stock form.

had a 2014 5.0 for two years...loved it

swapped out stock exhaust for Roush exhaust and it sounded orgasmic; a violent yet smooth sound...like a raging bitch slithering out the gates of hell

that's the only mod i did. very fast in straight line...when taking turns reduce speed by 75% else you'll end up in the ditch...

rain, snow...forget about it, no traction. but heard the newer generation has better traction

Loved all of them. Had a chance to get into a gt350 before I got my M3. Just couldn't deal with the interior...

And American interiors are pathetic.

Yeah if I were to get a stang it would be a summer/ sunny day car. As will be the M2. Really the mustang build I would want would be 40ish anyways. About 13k cheaper then the M. Just can't talk myself into it. I think the M will make up for it with lower depreciation though.
