I'm afraid not. They are made locally at the seafood factory. An elderly gentleman comes by with his refrigerated truck with several offerings including lobster, crab and a variety of fish fresh from the dock.

Chana masala

One of my favorites.

Chickpea stew (curry) on cumin rice with fresh cilantro and tadka of cumin seeds and red chili fried in oil and ghee.

One big benefit to living near an ocean. I miss fish cakes and baked beans.

But fish cakes just cry out for baked beans. I thought it was just a New England thing, but when we were at Conwy in Wales, fish cakes were popular there as well. There was a restaurant in MA where they served fish cakes and beans as sides for breakfast.

Now I'm hungry again.

Agreed. I asked to skip the peas and have beans instead. They obliged. I don't get the mushy pea thing.

To make amend for my cheap shot, I'm baking beans and will serve them with fish cakes.

Soaking until diner time then simmer for 30 minutes and in the oven @250°F. with all the other ingredients for seven hours. More pics to come later.

We were thinking about trying homemade baked beans in our Instant Pot. I'll be interested in seeing how yours turn out.

Pulled pork sammies with BBQ sauce and coleslaw, tater tots. Pork went into the 225 degree egg at 10 PM, was done at 7:30 PM the next day. Leftovers will go into soup, enchiladas, and more sammies.

Potato and cauliflower curry

Vegan and gf. This one is commonly prepared on the drier side. I like the version with some gravy, it's easier to ensure the veggies are cooked without burning or drying them out. This recipe is a little unique with the presence of both fennel and cumin seeds together.

With fresh cilantro and onion. Fresh grapes for dessert.

1. After four hours remove from oven and mash one cup in a blender. Return to the oven for another three hours. Add water as required.

2. Done after seven hours.
