I'm not confident in SLV either yet.

I guess I'm just going to be a bit cautious and maybe miss out on some early gains if anything.
As you should be. I'm feeling the pain today...

How/where did everyone in this thread learn to trade? I see a somewhat diverse set of strategies from time to time, so I'm naturally interested.

Damn, that really sucks. Hopefully you're able to make it up for it soon. We need mact to drop some magic in this thread to save the day haha.

Honestly, too many long nights on google and some ridiculous good luck. I've been holding onto my main stocks for a LONG time and have tripled my money on most of them, very typical and "DUH" type stocks. The ones I have sold you would think I'm an absolute genius selling them at the perfect time, but I honestly just sold them based on absolutely nothing and got absolutely lucky. I'm a product of the bull market, if things got rocky I'm sure I'd get eaten alive.

At least you recognize it. Some lessons are going to be learned when the market corrects. It's been an amazing 5 year bull run. Might continue, but more signs point to at least a 15-20% correction.

I think the central powers that stopped the market at its 9.99% correction in October cannot stop the next sell off from turning into a bear market.
Look at the precious metals and oil manipulation, they are running out of tricks.

By guessing and either winning a heads or tails coin flip. Not betting against the Fed is about the best strategy you can have these days.

What do you guys think of UGAZ at this level? It has to find a bottom near here. NG has to make a turn for the winter months.

Anyone else long BAC? I'm up 10% on my largest position. May be looking to sell half by EOY.

I am. I opened my position in Dec 2013 at under $16/share. My average cost basis is now $16.04 for my holdings.

I averaged down to $16.04. Wish I backed it up even more back in May.

What's to keep someone from holding VIX long term? Buying when it's worthless and waiting for calamity?

That's my plan but it's too early to think about doing that.
