I would say that's not a bad choice. Go to the local gun range and rent a hand full of subcompact 9mm and or .380s. Get the one you're most accurate with.

There are several nightstand or dresser drawer safes for a single pistol.

This is likely the least expensive option to keep it out of your daughter's hands. Won't guard against being stolen, but should do the trick for what you want.

This one is a bit larger and has optional biometric entry.

My first time ever and it was with a glock. Not bad for 25 feet and if he or she was stunned like a deer in headlights, I would have had a kill shot for sure.

Not bad at all.

Love the deer in the headlight analogy! lol

I think you get where i'm coming from. Whichever pistol feels most natural and you shoot the best without taking 3 to 4 seconds between shots to aim, is the one you should carry. Shoot one handed, shoot left handed, etc... the one that scores you the most hits is the winner.

There are plenty of other pistols i'd rather carry for weight and comfort, but for me, the G19 just hits what i want to hit. I can draw it and pop off 3 rounds center mass in a fraction of a second and i don't even think about aiming. Can do the same with other pistols, but i will have to actively aim. Where as with the G19, it just naturally points at what i want to hit. It's more of an extension of my hand than something i'm holding. The odd thing is that doesn't transfer over to other Glocks, for me anyway.

Bottom line is that you should shoot many of them and rank them according to your accuracy. Then factor in the other aspects of weight and ability to easily conceal under.... short, tight, thin clothing.

While I don't know how many shots you took vs how many wound up on paper, on the surface it certainly does look good.

As Tonka said - explore a bunch and go with what you are most comfortable with from a feel and the most accurate with. I think both feel and accuracy are important and each drives the other to a degree. Maybe in your case that's a Glock. Just don't get something because it is 'fashionable'...please.

No lie, some girl who was in the class I was taking for a license to buy firearms was only there because she saw this pink gun in her latest edition of Cosmo and thought it was cute and so she wanted it. That was her main reason for being there. She also asked if she could shoot a person knocking on her door if she felt threatened enough. A real piece of work that one.

Scary part is I'm guessing she got her license since the instructor spoonfed us all the answers. But the reassuring part is I'm convinced she didn't get her pink gun in the end anyways because she would have found out later that she needs to belong to a gun range to buy her restricted pink gun and I'm sure that since she appeared to have the attention span of a gnat that she didn't have the focus to follow through and actually become a member anywhere. At least that is my hope, because the thought of her running around somewhere armed is depressing.

I have a G26 that I carry. It's a fine carry gun but it's not a lot of fun at the range. I want to get a G19. Fell in love when I shot one for the first time. Need to add one to my collection.

lol I say that because none of my targets were actually moving and running from me lol.

So I suppose who wants to take me to a range and test my skill level

I can't help but ask...why? Did Mr. Chicago turn into a stalker?

And the mods have been nice to us lately regarding firearms. Perhaps their original concerns have been 'trumped' for more legitimate ones.
I saw you my friend !
And I'm sure she has a reason why ...
It's not Mr Chicago , It's Mr Boston .
