The same applies for the older R34/33/32 crews, very very well respected and when an R34 comes to meets you can be sure that this 'RICE shit' will attract more attention then any other car (Which is over 8 years old). The GT-R is no different and will only get more popular in the US since the older generations were never offered. America was screaming for a car that could perform in a straightline like the Z06, but turn much better with better quality materials. Well here it is. We should be glad any company is willing to offer a package like this, but I'm sure you won't get over the badge. Shame. |

yeah dude thats totally a p.o.s. jap crap shitbucket on wheels. i mean its a $70k supercar thatll look as dated as my grandmas panties in only a few years. id rather have a 335i with procede v10 when it comes out over this piece of japanese shit. first of all comparing the new gtr to the new m3 is just stupid, they arent even close to being in the same league. and dont tell me that when you see a 1998 r34 you think 'wow what an ugly piece of jap shit' or something along those lines. cause i sure as shit would take an r34 over a 1998 m3 anyday. second of all 70k for the performance that the new gtr will provide is just amazing. nissan could very well have priced their new r35 for tens of thousands more (proven by this post). you can say the styling of any car wont be as interesting in 10 years so it may be that in a decade the gtr will look somewhat dated, but i doubt the m3 will hold up any better. just got back from the l.a. auto show.......
the GT-R(SUPERCAR) is by far the hottest car there........makes the M3(coupe/sedan - sports car) look like a ford taurus. gotta see the car in person.....and for $70k....and that kind of power is unheard of........

2200 and of which only 500 will take the car. Jus like you see here evryone said they would get a 335i and most have not and the same thing for the M. If you count up all of the members claiming they will get the ne M3 less than 20% will actually buy it.

I anyone wants one for not A PENNY over MSRP let me know. I have a nissan store where I work and they do not charge over list for ANY CAR. My owner does no belive this is fair om amy car. This is also true for the new vette that is superschrged, The Porsche 911 GT2 and GT3 and also the Shelby GT500. I hope the delaers that charge over list end of having to buy all of the cars back they overcharged people for. What a joke.

Not really, cause the Z06 has more HP. But i get your point. It is an awesome looking car, and if the rumored numbers are true, its about 6 seconds faster than the Z06 around the ring (for now).

I hope this is the case for the GT-R. I plan to jump on a list really soon with the hope of getting one in '09. I refuse to pay over sticker, so I hope that most of the hype settles down by summer of '09. The 335 should keep me quite happy until then, and if price gouging continues on the GT-R at that point, I'll look at something else.

IMO the car is freakin hot.. but i think they should have marketed the car by just having it known as the "GT-R" not as a nissan to all those who are badge whores lol. they should've made it its own car brand. just would have been a better marketing method.
just my .02 cents |

I don't think that is possible, since the GT-R has forever been a Nissan in heritage. I completely agree with Nissan's move to keep the car branded GT-R. I don't want a stupid brand whore driving a machine they don't deserve. And with 1500 slots, this will make it alot easier to purchase one |

some of you guys are killing me...what's wrong with $70k for a nissan? Every make has their flagship car which cost alot more than their average price car, like dodge viper, chevy Z06, ford GT, even BMW M series.
BTW, GTR prices have never been low price cars. R34 was over $50k if you convert it into US dollars which almost as twice much as 350Z's in Japan.

A quick look to ebay will show late 90's GTR selling for 20+ K while late 90's M3 are only selling for <10 K. I would do more research about a car before you start knocking it. GTR will blow the doors off an M3 so it should be cheaper.

Well, every time I see a clean NSX, Supra, R34 on the streets, it turns my head. there are Japanese cars out there that are beautiful and absolute classics.
Then again, some people are too close-minded to buy a honda/toyota/nissan when bmw badge makes their e-penis longer |

1. I bet that 95% of the GTR's purchased will be garage queens then traded or sold.
2. That works out for those who want the machine but are willing to wait and let the primary buyer to take the hit on the price first. 3. The majority of the First purchasers of the GT-R won't be true auto enthusiasts...........they'll be people in the (I gotta have it first group)........they'll be bored of it in a couple of years 4. The GT-R is far from rice, you'll understand it when one blows by you with that killer exhaust note.
