Plenty of space in passenger seat after installing rear facing car seats in the back?

The x5 is not huge. Next to my f150 it looks small even. Quite easy to park as well, my wife finds it easier to park and drive than our old 328

If it's going to be the wife driving the X3 is okay. As a guy, I wouldn't be caught behind the wheel of a X3 or X1. X5 is the only option for guys.

You must be one insecure dude........

The current X3 is the same size as the original X5. Get whichever one makes the most sense for your situation, OP, but the X5 is a pretty large vehicle for urban errands and chores.

The current x3 is simular in size to the e70, but its closer to a 328 interior. The x5 still feels much larger and spacious inside

That's hilarious! I am behind the wheel of an X3 almost daily, sometimes I am even wearing a pink shirt while nimbly guiding this apparently exclusively feminine conveyance through hostile traffic. However, last I checked my manhood was still firmly attached and boobage had not yet sprouted on my hairy chest

To each their own. The lines on the 3 look feminine to me. If you're happy with the 3 then that's great for you. I was voicing my opinion that the 5 strikes me a masculine car while the 3 has more feminine lines.

Sure.

It's a first, though - that someone calls the X3 a chick car.

Funny thread. The X3 is for chicks, but who cares? I drive an X5 and it's for soccer moms. Again, who cares? I drive my wife's 135i and that is the girliest car BMW ever made. I still drive it!

I'm considering a smaller sport SUV myself and the Porsche Macan is at the top of my list.

Macan.

X3 is ugly and the X5 is way too big.

LOL, truth.

Why do people care what others think of them? Insecurity...I guess. Who cares what people see you driving.

A decent optioned macan is as much as an x5 and smaller than a x3. Totally different league/class of car.

The way I have them specced out, the Macan S comes out just under $3k more than a M-sport X3 35i. But the extra hp, dual clutch transmission and Porsche quality are worth it. Porsche priced the Macan perfectly. I see you are in Canada so pricing might be different.

Macan is actually longer and wider than a X3. Macan does have less cargo space with the slanted roof. But similar floor space, as I never stack stuff to the roof.

Both vehicles will definitely be cross-shopped, including with the SQ5.

this /\/\

the space is pretty close in the 2 your looking at the changes in '11 are worth it

base bare bones macan is 50kusd. a msport 35i is 48kusd. i sat in both at the latest autoshow, and the macan feels much smaller because its so low. also, they had a macan s on display, and once you add panroof, 20" wheels, nicer interior trim, the car jumps to 70k very fast.

i love the macan, but i would quicker get a loaded bmw than a base macan. my dad is actually looking at one since he is downsizing from his cayenne s and doesn't need the space. regardless, the macan isnt even an option for the OP because they are just coming out and nowhere near his price range.

Sat in the Macan two weeks as well, Turbo version. It was right next to a Cayenne. I was surprised how big the Macan was. It didn't even look much smaller than the Cayenne. With comparable options (Navi, pcm/idrive, heated seats, sat radio, 19's, upgraded stereo, msport/sportchrono, etc.) the difference is less than $3k. Sure you can option any Porsche through the moon, a Cayman S can get over $100k. Reality is a optioned equally the M-sport 35i and Macan S are not far apart. I think Porsche did this on purpose and are going to sell an enormous amount of Macans.

I love how this thread went from X3, X5 to the Macon.

Just get the one you and your family likes more. They are all great cars.
