Yes the Japanese did commit some heinous war crimes, but even if there was a Nazi soldier hiding out somewhere in France I would still have respect for the dedication. Those horrible acts weren't committed by every member of that military. Many Nazi soldiers didn't agree with what happened to the Jews and I'm sure the same happened with the Japanese. Even if this Japanese solider did commit those acts, the fact that he survived all that time is amazing and he has earned respect for just that. Maybe its something you have to have served to fully understand, but he wasn't just some serial killer hiding in the woods for 20+ years.

George Washington was a Traitor and Terrorist as far as The British Empire was concerned. He was a Patriot and Hero as far as the US is concerned. Nobody would call George Washington a coward. He was a very brave man according to the British and the Americans as well as us Canadians. Being brave or being a coward is different than fighting for a cause that may be wrong. |

Well yes and no, I think most people equate the word terrorist, with those willing to strike terror into a population, with no holds barred, even through civilian attacks. George Washington didn't launch attacks on civilians, that is the difference between a freedom fighter and terrorist in my opinion...
