I can't imagine how fast the new one will be. Especially considering that it will be 250-300 pounds lighter than the W204 (with more power).
I was quoting the conservative BMW numbers expecting the car mags will get better probably 3.5-3.6 I would imagine not that 0-60 is gold standard bc I think highway acceleration much more useful...

I'm just saying that in general, AMG always makes it a goal to have its M3 competitor (i.e., the C63) faster in a straight line than the M3. The W204 was always faster in a straight-line than the M3. After the LCI C63 hit, it made up a lot of ground in the "handling" department, posting better skidpad and slalom numbers than the E90 M3.

With the new C63 weighing a few hundred pounds less and pumping out close to 500 horsepower (and likely over 500 lb-ft of torque), I'm guessing the 0-60 and 1/4 miles times are going to be insane (especially with Race Start).

Chris Harris has confirmed a RWD drivetrain for the next C63:

"I had a little chat with Tobias [Moers; AMG Product Chief]. He confirmed the next C63 is forced induction, but also mentioned eight cylinders. He also confirmed it would be two-wheel drive and have the electronic LSD seen on the SLS Black Series. Sounds like a complete weapon."

Def will be a beast! I have never driven a C63...My experience in owning and driving CLS63 and drving friends E63 and CL63 has been great straight line performance with all the sportiness sucked out and horrible light steering...The LCI C63 seems to have fixed a lot of issues as you mentioned and it seems AMG is getting serious with the new one

Sounds interesting. Glad that it's RWD, glad that it's a V8. Rumors are that it'll be right around the 500HP mark.

I seriously hope Mercedes drops a DCT in this. I won't buy a torque-converting automatic. I also hope that it's significantly lighter than the outgoing car, and that the engineers took the development of its suspension seriously. Not sure how to feel about the electronic LSD...

i cant stand normal autos.
The problem with your argument is that the MCT trans doesn't use a torque converter. It uses a compact wet clutch setup for launching the car from a stop.

Stronger rear fender arches/flares.

Rear trunk spoiler. Multi-spoke wheels.

Is that a wagon already? So much better looking than the melted rear of the new C.

Agreed regarding the rear. Judging by the rear profile in the second picture, the spoiler looks to be fairly aggressive.

Can't wait to see the car without the camouflage.

I agree that the trunk lid helps a lot, but the tail lights of the sedan do nothing for me.

Yeah those are some pretty good renders.

Although I think if the artist could revise the render, he would include a much more aggressive rear spoiler (as seen in the spy shots).

Totally unrelated side note: There are a couple of guys unloading their 2014 E63 AMGs over at MBWorld (one with less than 200 miles, fully loaded, and price reduced to $93k so that it can sell quick). Man is that enticing.
