Doesn't seem like a very sharp fellow...he doesn't like Passats but he keeps buying them. I do believe that the Daimler-Benz merger benefitted the Daimler side and hurt the Benz side. I like the looks of the new C class alot and the interior looks good to me but I won't be a Benz because they only use sissy transmissions in their cars.

Let see, I put MB in the class of owning a Cadillac back in its day. They had big engines, lots of power, features and comfort. However, I hated driving my dad's and he loved those and Lincolns. We all associate ourselves and others to the type of car we/they drive. Those who drove Cadillac's hated those who drove the muscle cars even though some Cadillac's could beat some muscle cars in a street race.
The MB and BMW thing is no different, those who enjoy driving a BMW can not see themselves driving a MB and vise versa. It is just a attitude thing. |

i saw a non-sport c-class at costco, for their new car spot light. it didn't wow me over one bit. my gf commented it was kinda plain looking, and i tend to agree.
that said, i still have not seen on new c-class on the road.

I saw one yesterday. The trunk is very short. Too short in my opinion, its proportions are askew for sure.

I've seen about four on the road now. I think the color makes a big difference in their visual mass. Out of the four I've seen, two were black and two were silver. The latter looked like tanks, so big. The former were dirty and therefore pretty ugly, but atleast they didn't look so big. One of the black cars had those ugly chrome taillight linings, and chrome B-Pillar overlays. Blech.
I think their styling depends heavily upon the lighting situations as well. They don't fair too well during mid day or late at night. They seem to look a lot better when the sun is hitting them at an angle when it begins to set.

We shouldn't judge reliability only for one's experience.
Take my case for instance - this is my first BMW - a 2006 330i - in its short 18 months life it has already been in the shop like four times - a combination of factory problems and BMW service shop negligence. If I'm smart, what should I think about BMW? Should I judge form my experience only, or take a more scientific approach and see statistical reports that includes a wider sample - I think the latter makes more sense. I like my BMW, but I'm not loyal to the brand (it's my first BMW), much less a stupid religious fan of the BMW badge - it's just a car just like any other - my next car could be anything. For the most part, BMW obviously targets males who like to think they know how to drive. Psst, a secret here: there many cars better than BMW (and many, many more worst than BMW). |

And 335s with the dying fuel pumps are really reliable...
I can feel the windshield wipers through my clutch pedal... That's not cheap, that's a feature! iDrive isn't buggy at all. Ever. Some people here are so ingrained with BMW superiority it's kind of funny. Yes, only low IQ people drive Benzs. And as we can tell from the members on this forum, only HIGH IQ people drive BMWs. I must be a woman if I want to buy an E55 and run 11s in my daily driver. Oh but wait, Benzs only come in automatics, so they're not performance cars... Like 90% of the BMWs sold.
