I care, because they are ugly and make what otherwise is a cool looking car, look like a joke. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

That knob is to loosen the seat for adjustment.

That's like saying I'd buy an M3 but the fact that it has an ugly oil filler cap just kills it for me. |

So of course its easy to critique what is one of the most highly engineered cars merely by the look of its mirrors. Because lets face it, mirrors make the cars, nothing else. What rock have ya'll been living under? |

Regarding the mirrors, everyone has their opinion, but mine is if you want cameras and . . . video monitors(?!!) . . . you don't get the car and process. Go look at a Nissan GTR (which I absolutely love).
BTW, the "who cares about rear mirrors" comment made me chuckle and reminded me of this. FF to about 1:25. I loved this movie when I was a kid.

Amazing machine for sure. I've alway thought the side-view mirrors look completely out of place against the rest of the car...ahh, what the hell do I know.

Dude, why are you taking it so personal? Did your Dad design the car? All I said was the mirrors look stupid on an otherwise good looking car and I question how well they work. I also said for the level of engineering that went into the car it seems to me Pagani could have come up with a better solution using video technology. Then you have some stupid comment about who needs mirrors on a Ferrari; when in fact if you drive the car on the street it requires mirrors to make it street legal in most states. Besides, driving in normal traffic in most localities (where someone who can afford such a vehicle has the means to make the income to do so) usually means heavy traffic where no matter how fast the car can accelerate one still needs to see the traffic on each side of the vehicle to make lane changes at prevailing traffic speeds. And your M3 comment is just plain stupid too; the design of the oil filler cap has nothing to do with the ability to drive the car properly, or relate to the exterior aesthetics of the vehicle. Chill out. |

I spent almost a half hour in the car and the mirrors function perfectly so you can put that part of the argument to rest. They have to be on a long stalk to see around the side of the car. The passenger compartment is quite narrow compared to the actual width of the car so they have to be on those long arms. The surface area of the actual mirror is adequate.

Stationary - now you're going to tell me I could never judge if they function properly at a stand still so let me stop you before you start. You do not need to be moving to see behind you in a mirror.

If the car is moving, and the mirrors vibrate and get blurry, then they would not provide a good rearward view of the road. You are probably not old enough to have experience vehicles that have blurry mirrors. Most modern cars and motorcycles have blur-free mirrors. From the deign of the mirror on this car, I would expect them to blur considering the long stem that attached them to the vehicle. I've not read a lot about the Pagani, but I've not read whether the mirrors blur or don't blur. I was just curious if you knew.

Is your gripe with the appearance or the functionality? You seem to be skipping around with your criticism. They have to be on a long stalk to see around the haunches of the car. This is common for cars with this shape. When you're faster than every car around you, who gives a fuck what's in your mirrors?
You're aloud to dislike them. It's all good. I just wanted to share the pics I had from my unreal access to this insane piece of automotive engineering.

omfg. the attention to detail is insane. and i'm loving the contrast between the gold engine bay, yellow springs, and the blue/purple hue from the titanium exhaust.
absolutely amazing.

I think the car... and its mirrors are gorgeous!
And I thought it was a resemblance of a leaf, or petal. But I do see the 'woman's eye' resemblance as well. EDIT: Also looks cool when the mirrors are turned in!
