So stoked! I wonder how we get tickets for the track ride? (Just for shits & giggles.)

If its at the Messe in Frankfurt, the size of this place is beyond belief. I was there last year for an industry trade show and it took me a half hour to walk from one side to another, and that's including walking on the flat escalator!

On my defense, the 5 series structure is based on the 7 series...

Haha, btw I didn't know that the 5 series is based on the 7!

Yes, it's at the Messe... or Frankfurt airport II as I like to call it The place is as large as a large airport.

Frankfurt is actually the only show where BMW can express its show with a massive amount of 62 cars on display , plus others behind the scenes.

This is not possible for other shows as there is not enough space , so a display like this is exclusively for Frankfurt , the German auto industry's home show to show their Teutonic might and dominance.

After The IAA, the alternating Chinese shows in Shanghai and Beijing take centre stage as the largest BMW display , eclipsing even Geneva.
Witness the size of the BMW display at the recent Shanghai Autoshow.

Frankfurt will also introduce a new theme for BMW - Infinite Driving Pleasure.

Who cares about Shanghai sir?
The rest of the world does not deserve a decent display?
I am shocked to read in here that they don't display anything in Australia!?Really?
If you are a company with a certain status, you are everywhere; it is your duty, your image, your pride, your reputation...
I guess I am asking too much, the new world is looking for profits only... Sad.

I asked my sources at BMW AG today. I hear its somewhere in the 30 to 50 million euro range for the IAA show. That includes all of the BMW Group; Mini, RR, and BMW.

Do you have any idea if Alpina will be showing anything new (B6 Gran Coupe for example)

Sorry I do not know. Alpina's display is always quite small... only two or three cars. I would suspect they will show their best sellers... an F30 and X3 - but thats just a guess on my part.

I will be sure to drop by and see what they have on display.

I always wonder who approves and inspects those displays. I am sure it's all very regulated - not than any vendor would dare cut corners for a public display at an event such as this. Still, its one thing to put up some walls or even a multi-floor structure. But a modular roadway is on another level altogether. Quite an undertaking and rather amazing for a temporary structure.

I looked it up on Wikipedia. The Frankfurt Trade Fair is 6.22 million square feet. Compared to the Los Angeles Convention Center that is only 720 thousand square feet.

Alpina will be unveiling the B6 Gran Coupe for limited markets, the USA and the UK will not see this vehicle.
