So why does your dad drive different cars that total over 1 million USD while you drive a 50k BMW?

lol, well I mean he doesn't want to spoil me. He always told me the importance of earning things on my own, which is why I don't really get to touch much of his money. I mean he pays for my education, I lived in his house, and he fed me. I consider myself lucky that he even pays for my college tuition and even bought me a car, let alone a BMW. I only have to pay my own rent in my little overpriced studio apartment. I'd say he's done enough for me.

In the other thread I made with the Ferrari, someone asked me "when do you get the keys" and I just replied that I probably when I'm much older. My dad loves to preach that there are very few joys in life that are better than acquiring things that I worked hard for.

I'd love for one of those cars to be here in LA though...haha

Your dad is a wise man and you seem like you are a very level-headed guy, considering you come from a multi-million (maybe even billion) dollar family.

Even if I were to become filthy rich one day, I would never spoil my kids rotten because they need to learn the value of a dollar.

Nice stable of super cars! Cheers!

I would of at least asked for a GTR. Considering how wealthy your family is, driving a 335 is like driving a used honda civic from the 90s.

That's a great attitude to have. You don't want to turn into some trust fund kid with a vacant life meaning.

Warren Buffet said it best when he was asked how much money he would leave to his children:

"Enough money for them to do anything, but not enough for them to do nothing"

Aw the 335 isnt THAT bad. My first car was actually a used Toyota Camry, so the BMW is a CONSIDERABLE step up for me. A GTR is way to expensive, not to mention my family doesn't really like Japanese sports cars.

It's pretty bad if your parents own a couple million USD car collection.

Never really understood why my taiwanese friend's parents hate japanese cars.

Because its all about appearances/reputation. 面子 if you know what that means in chinese.

Governments in Asian countries have huge taxes on European automobiles but not as much on Japanese autos.

C200 &318i's are like $80k USD in China while S classes and 7 series are ~$300k. Infiniti M35 is ~ $90k USD in China.

Since S-classes and 7 series in US is almost the cost of a C class in China, that's why you see so many Mercedes/BMW vehicles. When they have guests over from Asia, they can show off.

Funny thing is that Japanese luxury vehicles are more comfortable than their German counterparts since German cars focus on more performance aspects of the vehicle.

I guess they really didn't want to spoil me? Or they're strict I guess.
