How do you guys not have higher GPA's? I'm in a mechanical engineering program and have a 3.925 cummulative GPA so far. It's not that hard to pound out A's if you just do the HW.

I'm gonna bet you two guys didn't have the best GPA's after graduating??? HW is the key though. It's called learning by repetition, which is why most, "most" people that don't do the HW don't do so well.

You would be wrong. My diploma has some kind of foreign words on it... Cum Laude, thats it.

We were mocking you for being a bit of a douche, not for getting good grades.

I found that as long as you show up to every class it is easy to get good grades, it isn't a big mystery they pretty much tell you what is going to be on the tests.

Congrats to you! Seriously! I would love to graduate at the top of my class. As for being a douche...other than having a little fun with my username, i didn't do or say anything. Also, not like yours doesn't make you look like a thief.

in my major, we didn't have homework. my grades were supported by tests only. my 2.8 will get me just as far if not farther than your 3.9 or whatever you are on here bragging about.

you either arent very far along in ME, or have 0 friends/social life. Im ME and unless you sit down with your dynamics teacher all day every day, there is no way you are 'pounding' out an A in that class. Same goes for thermo and fluids. Mechatronics wasnt exactly a breeze either.

I wasn't bragging. Take shit personal much? I would just think that people driving higher priced cars must be hard workers and therefor have gotten pretty high grades. As for my social life, yup..pretty non existent at this point, but that's because i put a lot of effort into school and work full time as well. The way ifigure it, is I'll have plenty of time to play later. School first. If that's douchie, whatever.

Up for OP finding some talent!

Sadly coming out of school you will work 50 weeks a year to get 2 weeks off, with the average age of retirement being pushed back 90% are either dead or broke when they reach retirement age. A 3.9 and a 2.3 will look the same to an employer, what really makes a difference is if you graduate top of the class/top percentile. Post secondary will probably be the most fun you can have in your life.

I used to feel that exact way. However the co op I have with GE Aviation says otherwise. They don't consider anyone with under a 3.2 for co ops or employment. They see it as determining if someone is a hard worker, smart, follows through, etc. Seems crazy, but what can you do???

Stay focused, good grades will never hurt you, just remember to have fun. Youth truly is wasted on the young. i worked and went to school and didn't really have the "college experience" something I occasionally regret, however there are some benefits.

I also believe that the most important things that you learn in college are social skills, and how to ask (internally and literally) the right questions. All the good grades in the world won't get you past a bad interview.

Wow, do I sound like an old dude who has had a couple drinks and is having an episode....huh
