Actually all states sales or service tax laws require it to be shown on the the receipt since the person paying is required to know how much of the bill is actually tax. You correct sometime it may not be shown, and the company in facts pays it. However, I will tell you states have been Nazi about sales taxes and if they get a sniff of someone not charging or not paying sales taxes they will be all over them.
