this makes the F4 IS that much more reasonable at half the price. And from reviews i've read, the F4 is a sharper lens too.

the way it uses auto focus and it's IS at the same time make it an amaizing lens. I'm not sure how the AF is on the non IS version, but if it's anything close to the IS version, it just snaps to focus.

so if you're looking for instant photos with things like sports or those once in a life time shots, the F4 IS is pretty impressive, especially for the money.

It took me some time to get used to it. but now i use it more then my 100-400, and that's saying something because i love the quality i get on it!.

Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 ZF.2

oooooh shiiiiiit. this baby is so sweet.
it's about as heavy as the camera - super hefty kit. very solid - all metal. no play anywhere.
focus ring is nice and smooth, can pull it with thumb and middle finger easily.
tried a couple shots using the range-finder in the viewfinder for focus confirmation and with just using my eye. both came out pretty well. things pop into focus nicely.
it's heavier, longer, but thinner and 10x more solid than the new Nikkor 35/1.4G.

i'll have real use of it tomorrow with my beach shoot, will post some images tomorrow night.

Gotta love rodi's style. Even pics of a lens are works of art.

i've been looking for a matte-screen/split-prism for the D3, but can't find one.
