I have a naval friend in nukes, was in VA for a while (and everywhere else). Last I heard he went out to South Dakota, Nebraska, or Iowa - can't remember which.

FWIW, 98% of the people who pick a major for a job they think they want, never end up in that job. Even if they do, most change career paths after 4-5 yrs anyway.
You either got it in you or you dont. You can never speculate where youll be in the future. Just get a good foundation and experience life. Those are the skills that will help you.
