Replace "I can't wait 'til I go to high school" with "I hate college" and you have my take on your predicament.

No matter how hard you feel that it is now, give yourself 10 years of real life under the belt and most things you did in college will seem like an utter joke. I don't want to down-play your classes, but after being out of school for 13 years and then going back, it's amazing that I ever found much of it difficult.
It was hard back then because I hadn't done the work. Now after realizing how hard you have to work to get ahead out here, doing redundant math problems seems like a easy afternoon for me. lol. Now is it necessary to prepare you for adulthood? is it worth the staggering price? will you ever use it in the real world? are all different arguments altogether. Just try to keep your perspective and what you're going through now will just be a bad memory about college life soon. -BMW2006 |

I myself am on my third year of college. The past 2 years at a community college have been a complete and utter joke and did not prepare me AT ALL for a major university.
Came to Boise State expecting to double major in Communications and Political Science. Being the dumbass I was, took some pretty hard classes. But after about 2 months of taking Palestinian Arab-Israeli Conflict Pol 497 I have a new found respect for hard earned grades. I am now a pure Communications major after this semester and don't know if I will ever look back . Chances are Collins that your older than me (20). But, damn man realize that although school may blow ass. Were getting hammered as shit on the weekends and enjoying the life of a young person. I don't know about you, but im enjoying every minute i've got here!! Best Regards, Heinz |

I had zero social life.. litterally none. I spent (no exageration) all of my free nights/weekends/spring breaks, in my studio class workshop building models and doing marker and computer renderings. For example: When I turned 21 I didn't have my first legal drink until the following Thursday ( 9 days) because I was working on a project and couldn't stop. The feeling you get in your gut when you are 9 days out and already know that if you spend 10 minutes "today" doing something not project related you'll miss your deadline next week is a pretty terrible one. The aformentioned scenario was just 1 of my classes in what averaged out to a 19 hour course load each semester (every semester) in a program where the requirements made you keep a 18-19 hour load every semester a minimum of 6 hours each summer to have any hope of graduating in 4 years. Oh yeah... And I was also working 20-30 hours a week (usually 8PM-1AM). My point is that yes, even with me accepting that college is hard at times I'd still do it all over again in a heartbeat. The workload in college is a total fucking joke compaired to what I deal with now... I don't even want to think about all the *cough* fun *cough* I missed out on while I was in school because I was busy working on projects. So for all you still in college, live it up... You have no idea what's passing you by. Yes, you've absolutly got to work at it, but don't forget to have a little fun from time to time. |

You'll look back on it as a joke.
I'm young as well and had plenty of screw ups but I took them all as learning experiences and built upon them. Anything is possible if you work hard enough for it. I take ~23 credit hours in a 10wk quarter. At first I thought it was the worst thing in the world and I would never see the light of day again. After a while my study techniques improved, my attention span increased, and I began to retain more in less time. I still have time to go out at least 1 night per weekend if not 2 and maintain good grades. Its all what you personally make of it. |

I understand where you are coming from, but coming from a chemistry major (Pre-med) at Princeton that runs track there and practices 3 hours a day, 7 days a week, I don't think you can possibly have more work and less free time than me lol
It all comes down to time management though truthfully. And if you think that your work out of college is harder than your work in college, you are either in the wrong profession or you didn't have much work to do in college because I definitely don't plan to be working that hard out of the office once I'm done with school. Whatever you're doing, there are shit tons of other people doing it. There are plenty of them who are smarter than you. Many of them work harder than you. Many of them are just plain ol' better at whatever you want to do than you are. That should be enough motivation to work your ass off and be the best fucken whatever the fuck you want to be that you fucken want to be.
*insert encouraging rant here* Work your fucken ass off. |

I was the same way, I didn't do shit in HS and did alright, college was a rude awakening. like jaykay said, develop your study techniques and work on time management and you'll be fine.

put it this way I passed the state required exit exams(1 for each subject, pretty much ACT's) in 10th grade
NEVER did homework and NEVER brought a book home, and still graduated with a 3.0 Get to college and it was like hitting a brick wall
