Accepted risk. You buy something like that you should have the brains to know that something can go wrong. That's the whole thrill of the car and racing/trying to set records like that. It's dangerous and you are on the edge. You can take your dull sounding Veyron SS and I will take a UR Gallardo TT that sounds like sex .

I've heard a Veyron at speed and it sure as hell impressed the crap out of me, no other noise like it. You may like living on the edge but i'd rather buy a car built specifically for those kind of speeds rather than something lashed up in a garage, if you want to go with a tunner product then it would only be some like Brabus, Ruf or 9ff that I would trust to do a decent engineering job.

Underground racing is a pretty legit shop, I wouldn't say they just "lashed" up that car. I guarantee you ALOT of engineering went in to making that car go that fast. Yes, the car aerodynamically was not designed to go that fast but I am sure they took the type of tires into consideration.

But anyways, you think 250.1 is crazy, check out this ford GT that did it in 266

They are a legit shop, they even offer a three year warranty on their work pending your use of Mobil 1 full synthetic oil...

while i can see why people may think your opinion is stupid, i agree with what you think in a way.

would i mind having an underground TT gallardo? absolutely not. who wouldn't?

but if i had the money to buy a veyron, i would get that instead. it wont be the fastest but hey 253mph is plenty fast for me and as you said - it was built for it. one of the sales advisors at symbolic in la jolla told me that the car at 190mph-200 feels smooth as butter (from his experience).

They may be a legit shop but do you think they have the same engineering resource as Ruf or Brabus?

I don't think 250 mph is crazy if you're doing it in a car built for it, I do think 250 or higher in a modified car like the this is nuts.

I guess it's different strokes for different folks. I'd still take the TT Gallardo. Just a quicker overall car, plus I'd never get anywhere near top speed in the car. I admire what VW & Bugatti did but the car doesn't get my balls tingling enough, SS or not. With all the money I save after not buying the Veyron I can invest/save it.

It still made the run and is still running fine afterwards. Looks like a success to me. I'd consider it if I had the means.

But would it be able to do it day after day, week in week out, the Veyron could, I doubt that Callardo could.

Correct. That is the difference between $200,000 and $1,300,000.

I would be more than happy though to destroy the Veyron in a TT Gallardo over and over and over to 180mph.

IMO The Lambo is a better looking car, but the Veyron serves a completely different purpose.

Funny comment,

now what does this "warranty" include?

I bet it's ONLY the hardware that they installed. No one with their right mind will warranty a motor after turbo conversion. And this applies to built motors as well.
