I thought I would share this with you guys...

Last night was my Fantasy football draft with my friends. This year would have been my first year participating. I spent countless hours setting up my draft board and preparing for the big draft day. The draft was last night. Before I show you all my picks, I will need to give everyone some background.

On Monday, I was told I had to be at a dinner meeting with some prospective clients. Very, Very big deal for my company. The meeting was set for Friday, at 8:30 pm. There was no rescheduling and my boss wasn't going to hear that I couldn't go or that i needed to reschedule because of my fantasy football draft. It was online anyway and I could set up my picks and put them in the queue and leave around 8:15 pm for the meeting and hopefully the queue would do the work for me.

Boy was I wrong.... here are the picks the auto-pick function chose for me:

Tom Brady - QB
Sidney Rice - WR
Frank Gore - RB
Kellen Winslow - TE
Rashad Mendenhall - RB
Jahvid Best - RB
Knowshon Moreno - RB
Jonathan Stewart - RB
Arian Foster - RB
Ricky Williams - RB
Justin Forsett - RB
Michael Bush - RB
Ahmad Bradshaw - RB
Brandon Jacobs - RB
Fred Jackson - RB

When I got back home after the dinner meeting I looked at my phone and it had 15 messages. I knew it wasn't good, but this is indescribable. I have no choice but to forfeit every game and eat the $100.00 dues. I could care less about the money. I just wanted to participate and now I can't. Everyone else has their roster set up properly and no one is interested/needs extra running backs. Therefore, I have no way of picking up my necessary position slots. Not to mention, it won't even be competitive if I go and pick up all remaining free agents because my entire team would then be bottom of the barrel picks.

dude you can trade and also drop/add so you have a full functioning team. You never know who can get hot and wind up being the pick of the year. Don't count yourself out yet. Remember injuries and bad years cause people to swap mid season, you can easily stay competitive for sure (you have Brady which should at least keep you in most games).

Why can't you play? All you have to do is drop a few players and pick up a kicker, D/ST and a few WRs. Sidney Rice is out for at least half of the season, there's one. Fred Jackson is the second guy that I'd get rid of.

You're obviously disadvantaged, but it's not like you can't figure out a way to play. Both Mendenhall and Gore are going to have really good years imo.


How many teams are in your league and who are the next best WRs that you could pick up out of free agency?

my current roster is getting better. But whereas the rest of the leagues teams have starters, I have mostly #4 or #5 guys as my starters. My guys just won't get any reps. And more than likely won't get more than a few looks a game. Which means my WRs are completely useless.

Right now, I have Sydney Rice, Devin Aromashodu, and Golden Tate. I have active trades waiting to be accepted by the commish for PITT-Def, Lee Evans, Ricky Williams for Brandon Marshall, and Knowshon Moreno for Vincent Jackson. If I can get Marshall and Jackson, I might be getting somewhere. But overall, I got a team full of mostly bench players. This is why my team name is now " Pine Riders".

Aromashadu might play a bigger role than you think...near the end of the season last year I feel like him an Knox were getting more reps than Hester b/c he can't catch or run a route...and with the new Martz offense Hester's route running won't get any better. Whether or not Jay Cutler is still alive to throw him the ball though is something completely different...
