In the article, it said 1996 Camry's had a recall on the cruise control that messed up the acceleration.

It also said his car was not part of the recall. My point was that the notion that he crashed his entire family into another vehicle intentionally to instigate a lawsuit is ridiculous.

Had this happen to me, cause my idiot self installed a hose clamp angling the wrong way for an aftermarket intake. The butterfly valve on the throttle got hung up on the clamp when I went WOT. Luckily I was in an empty parking lot just testing runs. I ended up shutting the engine off once I realized "oh s***, it won't come out of WOT".

LOL all of this hooplah with Toyota just because people can't anchor their floormats or keep them from creeping up the pedal.

America at its finest. Way to turn what was a goodwill recall into a slaughter of the brand name. Definitely a mistake by Toyota to address it. Shoulda just told people to get their heads out of their asses. I guess they'll know better than to do that again.... Man, we Americans are merciless when we have the opportunity to pass blame and scapegoat.... I don't know of any culture that even comes close to us.

That's because people who try this shit in other countries get laughed at, punched or assassinated. This lack of responsibility and or entitlement mentality makes me sick. Generally speaking, I am so tired of people's lame ass excuses for why they fucked up.

you do know it has nothing to do with the floor mats right? Actually it was discovered that Toyota tried to use the floor mat to disguise the real problem, a electrical control issue. This all came to light when a woman in Michigan (or somewhere up north) crashed her car and killed herself while on a 911 call saying she can't get out of wot and they found no floor mats in her car, because she had heard of the recall of floormats and just took them out.

1) I wasn't aware of that. Was this the only evidence they had of this occurring?

2) See my disclaimer.

That brought the current cover up issue to light to the US government and media. Then after that, numerous evidences came out like past Toyota councils came out with documents and shit and upper management admitting shit to congress...its a BIG ASS fuck up.
