Most watch nuts will agree that time is too precious to be read off of something that runs off of batteries.

All kidding aside, there is something very intriguing about mechanical movements that come in watches. Some people appreciate that more than the brands behind the watches. That's why a serious collector will have watches that cost in the thousands as well as watches that cost in the hundreds. It's all in the movement!

I thought only Mercedes drivers were worried about how they look.

an expensive - but historically profitable - hobby...until the world - and watch prices - were flipped upside down!

Exactly right, which is why us BMW owners where our watches under our shirt sleeves ;-)

none. cause it adds weight to the car. use the clock in the car if you need to know what time it is.

+1 for iPhone. Every car I have has a clock and then there's the microwave.
I used to wear a watch but then I take it off to play golf and forget to put it back on. It's in my golf bag I think. It has a flight computer built into the face.

I part own a Jewlery store (investment). So pretty much whatever I want

All joking aside, I buy it, wear them a year and we resell them as preowned through our store. Excellent way for people to get a 1 year old Rolex.
