I'm guessing that center exhaust tip serves a purpose. Maybe it's got a bypass flap on it that opens up when you go WOT, or something like that?

From my understanding, the center is open at idle, the left and right are closed. Upon WOT, center closes and left and right open.

+1 exactly.

Maccas rule!

But a 458 is a nice alternative anno 2009.

This car simply doesn't look that good imo. The front is botched because of those ugly hood intakes and those amorphous headlights.

The back is alright, but I can't shake this weird Toyo feeling from my head when I look at the lower, toy-like bumper.

My god, wtf has happen to Ferrari who the hell is designing their cars??? First it was the California and now this. I don't really mind the back or side profile but wow, the front is awful.

I've been thinking the SAME EXACT THING for the past 8 months.

This car is a huge let-down.

Sure, performance, aerodynamics, yada yada yada.

This shit does NOT look that good.

Its decent, at best.

Whoever is overseeing Ferrari's new car designs needs to be FIRED!

Yep this car looks like shit.
Back end is ok, but quad tails and quad exhaust is so much indimidating. The front is just terrible. Would not buy this over a 430 thats for sure.

This car looks like the F430 and California made babies.

Unfortunatley, the California has shitty genes.

Exactly. I don't know how people are drooling over this. I think people see FERRARI and a 9,000 rpm rev limit and think SHIT'S BOMB YO.

I'm sure the group its aimed at is liking it more then some of you guys. I don't think Ferrari gives a shit about what a bunch of lowly 3 series owners think about frankly...

A design like this would have looked better on the 458's rear.

Downgrade from 430 imo.

Still, at least it's something new unlike the next generation 911, man i wonder how that's gonna look.

+1000

The first batch of pics it looked great, must have just been the camera angles. Now...I'm not happy. The Gallardo looks better.

You guys are nuts. When you see this car in person you will love it. For those of you who feel Ferraris designs have gone to crap, your way out of line. The 360 is a POS in my opinion and that is where they faultered a bit. Ferrari designs have always had a skinny waist line and big flares over the wheels. Seriously, take a look back at the nicest Ferraris and you will find this. The 360 and 430 strayed away from this design. Now Ferrari are back with the 458. Trust me...this thing is going to look amazing in the flesh. Both Ferrari and Porsche hit a funk in the late '90's-early 2000's, but thank goodness both are back on track now with what made the designs beautiful in the past.
I do however agree that the California is a dud, but then again, it's sort of Ferraris "Boxster"...much cheaper then what was their cheapest car before it.

^ I'll give you that.

Seeing it in person would probably bring anyone on this board to "please, please, please let me drive it".

The P Panamera will do the same thing IMO. Most writers have said so.

You do you have a point. I thought the X6 was beyond ugly, seen it a few times in person and I've changed my opinion but that been said, i've seen the California in person and it still looks awful. I just hope this car turns out to be a stunner because it really is the flagship car for Ferrari atm it would be a shame to have a dud for the next 5 years or so and have Lambo come along and drop a hot replacement for the Gallardo/LP560.
