I just find it so disturbing that the government refuses to acknowledge this problem. I read an article a few days ago where the reporter asked if The President and his Cabinet would see "An inconvient truth". He said no.

Politics aside, this is a moral, humane, life altering problem.. We shouldnt think republican/democratic. Everyone needs to help. The problem is, no one is ready nor willing to sacrifice.

And im serious when i say that i honestly would feel gulity for bringing a child into a world where so many problems are occuring.

Yeah, I agree with shim. You could feel guilty about bringing children into this world for any reason: murder, terrorism, rape, famine, war, natural disasters.

Yep, life's a beach.

I've always liked the saying "the world's a wonderful place. the only problem is there are people in it."

If we survive as a species until then, we will have the means to blow up the sun.

Ha ha ha ha!!!

I'm serious about that, though. I say that's my theory, but I'll bet someone already thought of that years ago. But if you do any kind of work in philosophy, it makes more sense.

Life itself is a singularity of the universe. And the fact that creatures of intellect (humans) have evolved to be able to control their environment is another singularity. We have evolved so we can basically live anywhere on Earth and still survive.

What's next to be conquered? The universe! If we can stay alive for a couple of million years, we'll probably be able to do it, too!

The journey's more important than the destination. Having children is an indescribable feeling; seeing your child born into this world; marveling at living vicariously through their experiences and being overwhelmed and humbled by the responsibility that lies on your shoulders to be their most important influence....

Children are brought into this world to help cope with problems occurring; they exist to do one job: play. And by doing so we learn to slow our lives, and play as well.
